you think you did nothing worth mentioning.
here's the deal:
NTs talk about things not worth mentioning ALL THE TIME. ew.
It seems to me they just talk to hear the sound of their voice, they are the ones who have no life. |

i think the issue is not harmony, it's approval and security.
NTs get their self validation from friends and superiors.

Dont be too hard on yourself sweetie. stay positive. You MUST forget about measuring yourself against what other people do, and focus on what you CAN do. Success is an endless cycle of 1. aspire 2. try hard 3. get frustrated 4.rest/reflect 5. repeat step 1! always get back up again. you may fall alo... |

I do. I have also been a shameless eavesdropper since childhood. ditto! i cant pay attention to a darn thing when someones talking to me, but man im sharp when im listening indirectly. if Im talking to someone i simply have zero interest in listening to whatever garbage that idly flies out of NTs m... |

I can't integrate them, but my understanding is that this is simply how ASD brains work. We process things one at a time, rather than multitasking. Brain studies also show disruption between links between top down processing (understanding the big picture) and bottom up processing (focusing on deta... |

the late robert monroe believed that if you could get both sides of your brain working in synchrony, that you would be a much more effective human being in general. much agreed, as I feel very ineffective in my present state :? Hemi-Sync and Brain gym look interesting. My energys do feel scattered ... |

just because you learned the "song and dance" of the NTs, doesn't mean you have to use it if you dont feel like it
I can blend in with NTs when I must, but Im just not happy when I do. So yes, i do feel like i lose myself when I behave NT; its quite miserable. |

My left and right brain work fairly nicely when focusing on hemisphere specific activities (like math and art, respectively.) But the two just cant seem to flow in sync with each other very well. (For example, when I socialize, I can either read/express emotion (right brain) or speak in conversation... |

Kudos on the desire to improve your situation! Give yourself brownie points for the right attitude. I experience a disconnect between internal me and expressed me also. When I lost the need for approval from others, I lost my motivation and patience to bend to the NT level as well. I don't have any ... |
