I would love that job. I tried to get one but I think the libraries around me are losing funding. Definitely on my list though.

I really need a job. My life is currently stalled, but I'm terrified of having a job that forces me to do a lot of face to face interaction, or worse, phone calls. I've put this off for so long because if a trip the grocery store makes me anxious I can only imagine how I would feel if I worked at th...

Thanks everyone.

I also wish that it were common to say "over" after you're done talking.

I discovered that hard alcohol is the best way to return phone calls.

I really need to return some phone calls but the thought of doing that makes me panic. I think this problem is getting worse for me. When I talk to people on the phone it takes a lot of effort for me to concentrate on what is being said. I don't know how to reply. I get easily distracted by all of m...

Receiving a phone call is one of the most anxious things I can imagine. Making a phone call is even worse.

However texting and social networking is not as difficult for me, but both are capable of causing anxiety even with people I am very familiar with.

I stim when I listen to music. I also stim when I play music. Sometimes I think that performing and stimming are one in the same. Most music has parts that repeat so I can usually work myself into an exciting whole body pattern.

By far the worst thing I am aware of is talking about something that is only related to the conversation in my own idiosyncratic way. My awareness of this is still fresh, so I'm sure that I am improving in this area and will continue to do so. I'm also sure that soon I will become aware of my next b...

Has anyone used meditation as a way to treat anxiety? I've had a lot of attacks this year and I realized I'm just horrible at coping with stress so I thought I'd try meditation, but I need to learn more about it first.

I know that people love me, but at the same time I cannot believe that anyone really loves me. I can love other people, barely, but I can never truly accept that people want me in their lives. I think if I wasn't around no one would really mind, and that's probably not true.

My favorite kind of music has the unfortunate label, "math rock." Notable artists include Hella, Zach Hill, Don Caballero, and Tera Melos. What I love most about it is the rhythmic complexity and the experimental song structures. There is also usually a perfect balance of aggression and elegance. Mo...

Eye contact is awkward and uncomfortable, of course. I make it even less with people I dislike. However, if I love somebody deeply I can look at there eyes and enjoy it. But still not while talking.

Thank you both so much. I've have been feeling crazy lately.

It does seem like a deep dark secret. Maybe I can look at that positively and I won't be so compelled to "confess" it.

I will try something like a doodle book.

It's really hard for me to connect with people. I don't seek out relationships. All of my friendships were formed by accident, because someone reached out to me and I happened to like them. This is the only way it ever happens. But sometimes, I form a connection with someone who I deeply enjoy and t...

I'm really glad I read that article. Love is a deep desire to know someone completely. Not to know them as you'd like to see them, but to accept them as they truly are. I feel childish all of a sudden.

I don't think I'll ever feel comfortable around other people. I don't think I'll ever learn the skills I need to join the adult world. I don't think I'll ever get used to the pains that most people seem to deal with. I'm having a really bad time and I don't know what to do so I came here to vent my ...
