This got me thinking, and I recognise that I play Colonization, a Sid Meier DOS based game from early- to mid-90s, as a stim. |

I don't play a lot of computer games nowadays - can't afford to keep up with the hardwear required. Curiously it got me thinking, and I recognise that I play Colonization, a Sid Meier DOS based game from early- to mid-90s, as a stim. Favourite all time games would be the Ultima series. Especially 6 ... |

This was clearly designed with print media in mind, and not the internet - since, if something (such as the contents of many news websites, eg http://news.bbc.co.uk or http://www.guardian.co.uk (my 2 main news sources)) is freely available online (without requiring registration), then copying and p... |

Me (worried that this customer will never leave me alone): Comp 2, etc . You could try telling them you're studying taxidermy or colonic irrigation. If you use the former, you could then ask if they have any pets... or aging relatives. BTW I'm now feeling old 'cause it was about 20 years ago that I... |

I actually have never heard of it. What's it about? I'd start with The Warrior's Apprentice , which isn't the first book in the series, but is the first book about Miles (the previous two are about how his folks got together, and there is a third book set much earlier in the timeline). Miles is the... |

I would recommend the first one, Enger's Shadow. The rest are worth a read if you are very passionate about his stuff.
Have you read Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles Vorkosigan series? If you liked Ender's Game you'll probably like these too. |

Enders Game is a great book. I've read the whole series well all that I could find. Have you read the books that followed the first? The second series is not as consitently good as the first, the third and fourth books should have been combined into one much tighter book rather than whittering on a... |

The standard saying, which danlo gave in his first quote, ... You've only seen a red sky in the morning once before? Haven't you ever heard the limerick regarding red skies? "Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. Red sky in morning, shepherd's warning." You're probably due in for crappy weather. and... |

That's not how the saying goes. Methinks you should check again. As regards to that little bit of weather folklore, here's a bit of info for you: Yeah, yeah. It was given in response to the correct quote as an attempt at humour. (Oh look, that quote was in danlo's earlier post.) Well at least Emett... |

Between 10 pm and 4 am is my optimum time for writing. The world around me is asleep (apart from a sodding owl who sits atop our chimney and hoots down it!) and the cats keep me company.
However, it's not easy to keep those hours and remain social to the spouse, so I don't do it all the time. |
