Chess club (It's only named that for hysterical raisins, though, it's more the Strategy Games Club (we mostly just play Settlers) (and I'm the only freshman regular, though))

ALso, the math UIL team.

Yep. Never did see the point of detentions or ISS (internal suspension). In my middle school, detention was "here's this huge packet, copy for n hours". (I have horrible handwriting, so cue laptop and the fact that no one reads so putting in [bracket comments] was all clear. Recently (9th grade) I g...

For outlines, emacs has an org-mode M-x org-mode (which does goood outlines and TODOs) Can you embed a command in a To Do note? E.g. if I had "Backup my notes: rsync /home/notes/ rsync://myserver/notes/", or "Check recently changed documents: find . -ctime 1" I would want to run those commands with...

Well I do enjoy the MS-DOS ports of Rogue and Infocom games if that counts. MS-DOS: Just say no! I tried playing Adventure, but it doesn't tell you what direction things are, and I got tired of guessing random cardinals. Maybe I'm just missing something. but seriously, that's cool. Glad I'm not the...

Only 20+ times, mostly mouthing off to teachers, along with one incident when teachers got fed up with my keep lines orderly in 2nd grade through "slightly unconventional" means. There also this really stupid one where I got 1hr detention for saying a**hold in class loud anough for $authority to hea...

Does anyone else here play (even casually, like me) some of the games off of the Unix retro part of the universe (Adventure, Zork, Nethack, Netrek (actually a really nice game, and has graphics), MUDs, etc.). I;m just wondering as this section of the net.world collides two obscurities, Unixen and re...

5th grade math teacher who magically repeats the same multiplication and such excercises OVER and OVER again because some slow f***s can't learn the stuff and we have to pass Every Child Left Behind tests. (Thankfully, I got into Pre-AP classes where there was real work). Also, she marked off a prob...

When I was in 9th grade one of my teachers caught me skipping a pep rally (technically those are optional, even though everyone is expected to go) because all the noise would cause me sensory overload to the point where I'd have an anxiety attack. He yelled at me to go to the pep rally and actually...
