Your work sounds great.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a lead character with a diagnosis? Seems to me that without you have more freedom and no responsibility, but also no benefit to the AS community.

Maybe this is the human condition. The truth is that we are all alone when we are born and when we die, but some of us get more comfort from structures designed to convince us that this is not the case than others. Maybe the best thing to do is to accept that you will not be able to be in a communit...

Nor me. It's not like two different planets really, is it? The space between is populated by a load of people with both sets of characteristics, some innate, some acquired, some of whom identify themselves as Aspie, others of whom identify themselves as geeks or losers, or genii!

There's an interesting point to be made though about Asperger's symptoms being held up as exotic by the NT population because they are attached to celebrities. This is probably good in that if Aspies then display these behaviours we are being eccentric like Tim Burton rather than anything more sinis...

So in books and films we're all savants or genii. Anyone else wish that films with other types of Aspie characters like Eagle vs Shark would say that the characters were Aspie? Or do you think it makes being in society easier for us that these 'types' are socially recognizable to NT's (i.e. I'm a bi...

[quote="Fixer_Girl"]You could try approaching some of the production companies - documentary makers like Atlantic Productions - and see if they would be interested in having a 'runner' for a while (who happens to know a lot about weapons and special effects). They make documentaries for th...

I work in tv and film. To add to CultofByron's thoughts - you need to be more specific about the area of film-making you want to work in as directing is so different from accounting and the advice for both would be so different. I agree that NFTS would be amazing but it's so hard to get in. What are...

No, partner a good guy, penpal may well not be, me definitely being the s**t here, although I haven't physically done anything. Only defence is I haven't been able to help myself thinking about this guy, though maybe that's more because of what he represents than who he is or might be. There is defi...

Thanks for the replies. It's a relief just to talk about it.
