Has anyone had their child say that they wished they weren’t autistic? My 15 year old son has NEVER said this to me before, but yesterday he started crying and blurted that out. I asked where this was coming from (if he was being picked on) but he says he is tired of being different and struggling t...

My 9 year old ASD son has a new obsession that is disturbing to both my husband and I. He is obsessing over dying, more specifically, what happens when you die. I have caught him with his hands around his throat squeezing so hard that he started to gag. He said that he wanted to know what happens to...

My 8 year old son is lying, even when the truth is easier, he still lies. I don't know what to do about this. He tells "stories" about places he has been or people he knows, that is an issue, but it is the lying that is "out of control". For example, today while in school, he had an arguement with a...

This is our second tsunami warning here, and in our location we have to evacuate. I have talked to him in detail about the evacuation process and how this makes him feel. He is pretty vocal about his fears with a tsunami. I thought that this pretty coincidental that the noises started after the warn...

My six year old son has started making noises in the last few weeks. It started after we had the tsunami warning (Hawaii) and they seem to be non-stop. It is very different from when he is "stemming"...he kind of just goes "hmm" "hmm" every few seconds. When I ask him about it all he says is "I don'...

My 6 year old son has similar fear obsessions. He is afraid of the shipyard, yet he has never been to one. Sometimes when we go driving to certain places he could see the shipyard off in the distance and he would start to panic and cry. He also had nightmares to the point of not sleeping in his own ...

Thanks for all the great advice. I do think I was stressing out about this more than I should. When he first starting obsessing over the "ladies butts" I thought it was okay and even a natural thing that kids go through. But it then turned into the "I just want to watch them shake their butts mom......

My six year old son has AS and is obsessed with trains, that isn't a problem, in fact we love and encourage his love for trains. The problem is, he is also obsessed with ladies behinds. This obsession is very troubling. No magazines, ads, women's catalogs can be left out because he will sit there an...
