I have been dx BP for many years now. I just had an intake for a professional analyzation for aspergers and the doc said he thinks I am an aspie and that I also have schizo-affective disorder. This makes me very unhappy. While I can understand the AS, I can't understand the SAD. I had a very very ha...

harobed, your condition is debilitating enough to require a live-in nurse?[/quote]

Not the aspergers.... I'm lucky enough to be blessed with several rare, but interesting if you like rare, diseases. One of them requires infusion treatment, thus the home healthcare nurse.

so this is not permanent depression? situational only, I hope? - that I've dealt with before and can handle.

And, yes, I think it is that series of realizations of the past rolling thru my head.

Wow..... it just set in in the past few days. Maybe it was the rain, but now I'm wishing I'd never been told I have asperger's that it's not going away and the dx doesn't allow the lessening of my BP meds. I just know why I'm a bit weird at times and angry a lot. If I could take this back I would. I...

Lene - I couldn't have said it better myself. I've certainly been acting out - a bit under stress - I guess - since the dx, but I'm sure this is not a "progressive" disease. So what i was before is what I will be with a few improvements, maybe. Great response - at least for my concerns - ;-) H.

I haven't told anyone (besides my daughter, of course) of my recent dx. I've heard several stories of folk losing their GF or BF or friend after being dx. Behaviours didn't change from day before to day after - so it must be prejudice, right???? What do you think and who's had this experience...

OK.... I've been having an incredible aspie couple of days. Whilst waiting for my home health nurse yesterday morning I sliced my left thumb from the nail back to the middle of the pad. SO she had to take me for stitches before my regular therapy the nurse kept asking me if I "did it on purpose".......
