I am asexual and I'm 20 and have Asperger's syndrome. The idea of having sex doesn't appeal to me, I used to be very fearful about my not being attracted to people in the way that makes people want sex, I didn't know what it meant about me, I didn't have a term for it,,. My family know, when I first... |

Isn't sex (as in making love) an extension of romance? I'm still unable to get how an asexual can be romantic. Too much confusion going on. It's hard for an ace to "get" the sexual mindset, as well. "Wait...what? Sticking that, there....and then lots of sweating and humping and bodily fluids....tha... |

Positive interventions and changes can be made in people but these can not eradicate natural neurological differences that people are born with, so they simply shouldn't be marketed as a cure for the actual condition itself when such a thing is impossible. Anyway, despite all the pain and confusion ... |

Their parents are abusive psychopaths, they are clearly completely mentally deficient and incapable of logical thought. |

I realize now that I don't need to be ashamed or try desperately to suppress my self in all aspects , I can be myself, an Asperger's person who feels very Androgynous. I have grown up a lot and I am much stronger. |

I have no religion but was brought up Roman Catholic and I recently came to realize that a lot of the stuff they do in the catholic church and other religions are like compulsions, having to do things a certain amount of times etc. Also, people from non western religions, when deep in meditation, of... |

The question is not illogical as a form of autism by nature is a disability / difference in which individuals may choose to improve\change\modify aspects thereof by means of research marketed as cure(s). Something that is an intervention 'marketed as a cure' is not a cure, a cure is impossible and ... |

This question is illogical, my Asperger's isn't a thing I have, like a disease. It's something I am, physically and mentally, or rather I am just that type of person. When people talk about 'curing' people in this way I just find it creepy. It's like 'A Clockwork Orange' or something, only worse, no... |

I am one. I have had occasional romantic attraction towards people but it has never made me want to actually do the deed. I tried to fight it quite violently before I understood it, to try and be more normal. I think it's partially the sensory aspect of sex which makes me asexual, among many other r... |

I was brought up to be a Catholic (it didn't work) and I know that if hell existed, which of course it doesn't, then a lot of Christians would clearly be bound for it. |

I presume some animals are 'Asperger's animals' and have differing personalities to each other but it probably matters to them less as they have less complicated lifestyles and certainly most humans don't care enough to bother finding out how to diagnose them, it's not exactly like you can tell them... |

I find it harder to KEEP friends than make them. Aspies have trouble priortizing socializing vs. hanging out alone in their bedrooms ;) I'd say make going out and chatting with folks like a job you have to do. Set aside time to do it every week. If you are reasonably friendly and funny you ought to... |
