At this point in time, it’s probably better to consider places like Germany and Switzerland as places where sex workers could be more feasibly employed in the sexual satisfaction of disabled folks—as the sex industry there is legal and more thoroughly and thoughtfully regulated than in places like ... |

Some people (who shall remain nameless) think that prostitution should not be legalized, not because of ideology but because of personal beliefs and values based, in part, on observation. Since prostitution is a CRIME in the US that’s considered worthy of jail time or a hefty fine, those same peopl... |

How do you know what kind of people they are? :? I don't have personal experience with either category. I know them personally. You probably do, but they aren't telling you. They're arrogant people. You want you. What I've heard locally about sex therapists is that by no means they are "tough ... |

Why are they being alienated from other people? They shouldn't be anywhere near an exploiter or an aggressor. |

I think it would be a good idea to end slut-shaming, but it would also be a good idea to end sex work. I've got a lot of misgivings with the whole concept of people using other people for a need--whether that be sexual pleasure, companionship, what have you. Crusty old atheist Terry Pratchett, one ... |

Why would you defend the rights of "sex workers" if you weren't one yourself? If you have to pay to sleep with someone, they have no interest in you. It's in their interest to push this argument, not that of autistic people. Sex workers are heavies. These people do all kinds - they aren't... |

Why pay? If you don't love them, you're begging to sleep with someone that has no interest in you. |

Have you thought of getting a tablet with recipes on? If you have WiFi in the kitchen plus a screen protector you'll be right as rain. Possibly have a stand for it. |

What difference does it make which party it was? Reading West is a two-way marginal (they have a Tory MP), Reading East is more solidly Labour than Reading West is Tory, although in 2004 they had a Labour MP. They elected the Tories in the 2005 election. Are you a Labour supporter? If so it kind of... |

not sure we really know the admin costs do we? VAT is more than 12p in the £1. VAT is 20%. do you have any data on the eastern Europeans being a net loss? It's more than about money. It's helpful to refer, but at the end of the day any benefit seems marginal. We still have to find space to house th... |

as a side issue - when new countries join the EU, the existing countries have the option of blocking migration for 7 years from them. In 2004 when the Daily Mail types got hysterical about Poland, Romania etc joining it was actually the UK Govt who chose not to implement this 7 year block. We were ... |

good info. So in monetary terms they are giving more than they take, which can can only be a positive thing. 12p in every £1 doesn't replace the costs of administration. It's not a profit. The eastern European ones are a net loss. Basically, a lot of the eastern European immigrants are not that muc... |

I appreciate this debate is more than just about the financials of it all but I did read that EU immigrants to the UK since 2000 pay in on average £1.34 in tax for every £1 they cost the UK Govt in benefits, state support etc. The latest findings estimate that recent immigrants from the 10 countrie... |

My point is: if it's British people, it's alright. If it's someone who isn't, they pay to use our services or take out private health insurance. Other countries (even EU ones) do it, it's time we did. |
