Autism is present at birth, is it not? Sometimes a person doesn't realize they have it until stress makes them fall back to autistic behaviors. Don't think it can be developed though. |

Maybe because it's probably brain damage. |

How is asperger's not mild autism?
I think of it as one in the same and it generally is without intellectual retardation. |

Not really sure but I feel the same way. Usually am indifferent about people, especially socially but I love most animals. Animals accept a person just the way they are and most people are judgemental about things that are different. If I were you I would trade your mom for a chinchilla or a monkey. |

I hate how hard it is to make meaningful relationships and not having any kind of support. |

I took tests and strongly suspected I had aspergers when I was around 15, but I ignored it until stress magnified the subtle autistic traits I've always had. In my case stress is what made me realize I can't ignore it after college. |

Take action – right now – to insist that ALL children and adults who meet the definition of “developmental disability” are given the same, fair, nondiscriminatory right to access services. The Autism Society of Colorado supports the proposed rule changes regarding the Colorado definition of “develop... |

I rock back and forth when stressed sometimes too, but even if I'm not-stressed I tend to rock back and forth a little while eating. Just something I do I guess, anyone else do that? |

Since yesterday it's felt like I've been on a couple of painkillers, I'm guessing it's a low level endorphin buzz for some reason I don't understand. Been kind of stressed out lately. |

It's a difference, and a limitation in some areas. It wasn't much of a problem in school because I basically kept to myself and only had a few friends if any depending on the time period, but outside of school is seems like more of a disability because working and functioning has a social element th... |

In the case of cashiers and such, I always plan what I'm going to say before I go up to them, so it's less of a problem. If I'm supposed to say something I haven't planned, though, I have a lot of difficulty. I do it even when I know what to say. Kind of an awkward stall. I always talk about the sa... |

I kind of have to do the same thing.
I sometimes do the stalling even when it's quiet, but if it's noisy it's more likely occur. |

Zionism is a new nationalism based on a myth, like manifest destiny. It seems that the military industrial complex benefits from Israel's wars as well as fortune 500 companies like Intel. Capitalism and BS "national security" is behind the hijacking of Judaism. |

Sometimes I have trouble speaking when out in public. It's total trouble communicating to strangers, sometimes it takes me like 3 to 5 seconds to actually be able to tell a cashier what I want. It's like I stall for those 3 to 5 seconds... I'm guessing this is related to autism. It's nothing major b... |
