Defiantly, much of the anxiety I now live with is a side effect of bullying in school. Plus the forceful enviroment of school drove me into meltdown rather a lot. You can read more about mu experiences at: http://achievingextraordinarysuccess.com/2011/04/14/designed-for-meltdown-schools-can-never-su...

I've had this idea on my mind for months, as Aspies tend to have a special interest that they are really good at, why not convert it into a business? Now, it does not have to be some hugely successful business, just enough to support your life, one man (or woman) doing what they love. Well, I'm doin...

Find something that you are interested in, or just enjoy doing, and do it. Let it take over your life, get really good at it and everything else takes care of itself.

If you really, truly have no ideas, give programming a try.

The human race is diverse and this diversity is what makes the species so strong. In the grand scheme of things, what label is applied to this collection of (likely unrelated) mental differences is really a non issue.

So... Board Games. Play, Design, Creating... In the last 6 months I've been obsessing over board games - the classics as well as the sub typical (ie the ones you find in comic book shops etc) and I've even come up with four entirely independant board game ideas - and devellopped them right down to ...

You have a special interest in something, that interest consumes your life and as a side effect you become very good at it. But autistics often have difficulty with 'traditional' employment for a wide number of reasons. So here's the idea, convert the special intrest into a business. Obviously it's ...

All I remember from that day was 2 collie sheepdogs running down a farm track and chasing us along the road for a bit, then eating a packed lunch which had melted in the heat en route. We were lucky the route was mostly flat so I don't recall it being that tiring. Excellent, good job you were...

Used to be terrified of going anywhere alone, mostly a side effect of much bullying in school (I would hide in the SEN room or library and went everywhere with a support worker/parent , so never got used to people). Now I have mostly got over this fear, the following blog post describes how (to save...

Personally I find words easier to remember than numbers, the conventions you mention are often used for marketing which would suggest they make numbers easier to remember for most people. The biggest problem I have with [phone]numbers is subconsciously transposing 2 adjacent digits into numerical or...

Well done, it must have been a peaceful walk. The farthest distance I have achieved was a 36 mile sponsored cycle run when I was about 12 years old. A very good experience for you and an interesting blog. It was peaceful, if anything a little too so; on average I only saw 3 or 4 people a day and th...
