I feel left out here because of hyposensitivity to sound. I actually find I can't write tests in the classroom because it is so quiet and I need a bit of noise to concrete. I like to work with music on. I don't find people being noisy in the hallway distracting, and most people do (not just here, N...

soft or smooth fabrics, like satin, silk, velour, angora, ect. Petting a long haired cat, floating in water, the weight of a heavy cableknit sweater, the cool smoothness of baby powder, my boyfriend playing with my hair, playing with HIS hair, all sorts of fragrances, soft music (particularly new ag...

Someone told me once that AS people "have no empathy." I don't think that's true. It seems like a lot of people on here have empathy. It's not like psychopathy. ugh I hate this one!! ! I'm EXTREMELY empathic, to the point that someone I don't even know can be upset and I'm in tears without even kno...

Oh, god, mine too.

thanx for this. My mom died just over a year ago, and my life has been a mess ever since. I was working in a high stress job that I hated, and caused me regular meltdowns, but I was able to push through, but after my mom died, I made it maybe 2 weeks before a quit. This caused a chain reaction of st...

well I really can't offer you any answers, but I can tell you, you aren't alone. I'm very uncomfortable in warm temps, and I keep my home at a steady 70 degrees. I love the cold and often think I should relocate since I live in florida.

I've never been told I drain people, but I often wonder if that's the case.i can't seem to get anyone to be brutally honest about how they percieve me. I know people tend not to talk as much when I'm around, and often when I try to talk about what's on my mind, suddenly everyone has somewhere else t...

Do people constantly have to tell you to keep your voice down, or to speak up because they can't hear you? This happens to me all the time; others will tell me that I'm speaking too loudly or softly, when I think the volume of my voice is fine. I get told to speak up all of the time. My voice hurts...

ugh yes... I'm a mumbler. It sounds loud in my head, but people always ask me to repeat myself (which frustrates me when it happens alot) or people talk right over me because they didn't notice I was speaking. I don't talk very much because it's just too exausting to try to talk loud enough, regulat...

sensory issues aren't always painful per se. Sometimes if there is too much going on at once, I just faze out, and can't move or speak for a minute or so. Certain types of music or tones can give me goosebumps so intense that it almost hurts. Sometimes my senses overlap or trigger eachother, like a ...

I don't like crunchy foods, for multiple reasons. For one, the sound of crunching is too loud, and my mouth is rather sensative. I also don't like foods that are very spicy or salty. Basically I like mushy bland foods. I get fixated on particular foods for weeks at a time, where I will eat the same ...

I always had problems with my ears growing up. I had ear infections constantly as a kid and still get them every few years as an adult. Loud noises hurt, and music with high pitched noises or fast beats make me very agitated. I basically stick to ambient and soft new age music to keep me calm. I can...
