I would like to initiate a discussion based on Proverb 3:5- "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not upon your own understanding." (NIV) Given the number of people who believe you must study the Bible on your own to truly understand/appreciate it, how can we reconcile this verse? Are not ... |

So, what's the deal with the belief in demons? It seems that Christians and Ancient Japanese agree, demons exist. But what is a demon anyway? If we're going by the New Testament, a demon is a fallen angel who works either on its own or with Satan, the original demon. Their activities include posses... |

I believe I made a mistake in responding to this page. I am more than willing to talk about my religion with anyone who wants to hear. I'm also willing to discuss others' religion with them. But I don't have to subject myself to personal attacks or abuse. That's not to say that I have not had them h... |

bully - 1. A person who is habitually cruel or overbearing, esp. to a smaller or weaker person. 2. A hired thug American Heritage College Dictionary - 4th ed. I'm not sure how I fit this definition. I don't believe I've bullied anyone. Allow me to make a few things clear: ...I have not said goodbye ... |

It is also likely that he has not really studied the Bible. Otherwise, he would have found numerous passages that are in direct conflict with what JW/Watchtower has done or taught in the past. My previous mention of the failed Watchtower prophesies versus the Book of Deuteronomy, for instance. It's... |

Atheists - prove it. 5/21/2011 A problem remains: The majority of Christians didn't sign on to this and claim it was true. Only a few loud ones did. Nor is "Christian" the proper antonym of "atheist", though that makes your point all the more relevant- it was not even a majority of but one of many ... |

Religion has lead to many atrocities. People kill eachother in the name of religion. Which is true of many forms of ideology, theistic or atheistic. As an atheist and former devout Christian I'm not wont to ridicule religion. It actually makes me a little sad that people impose such beliefs on them... |

Im what you call a "Naturalist". And I'd love to have a nice convo with you. I always prefer discussions rather than arguments because frankly, in a world with 7 billion different people with 7 billion different minds thinking in 7 billion different ways, it would be foolish to be overly concerned ... |

In order to disprove the existence of god you have to give us some criteria for which to undertake some kind of test. For instance take the most holy figure - say the pope - and throw him out of an airplane without a parachute. Surely if god did exist he wouldn't let his followers be disgraced. Unf... |

just saw this one: I appreciate this. Let me be clear. I do not believe atheists are "the enemy." I wished to have a intellectual conversation based on my firmly held beliefs. I wanted to hear the firmly held beliefs of atheists. I also ... |

There's an increasingly-growing disturbing trend in European nations to call religions races, and also to shame people out of "anti-religious" rhetoric (read: ethical and scientific criticisms of religious claims). http://europenews.dk/en/node/13092 I don't agree with calling religions races, but I... |

There are also other posts you have made that suggest that your opposition to the divine is based on religion: I was a christian for a lot of years, if you call catholic christian  Since then though, i have decided that my life is mine, and not some god's, even if he/she exists. In fact, there... |

Ventriloquism???? First of all, that's not in the Bible :lmao: Well, I mean... seriously, like we're making up this convoluted story just because the scripture makes little sense. So... I mean, seriously, it's just kind of silly. I wish there was ventriloquism in the Bible. I'm sure it would be muc... |

I'm truly amazed how out of hand a single question is capable of becoming on WP posts. I cannot/should not say "I'm pulling the plug" as it no longer belongs just to me. It's difficult to say "I give up" as this would only add fuel to the fire. However, I would like to wrap up my thoughts on everyth... |

kladky and I disagree STRONGLY on a lot of things, and in one line of discussion we pretty much came to a standstill. I admit that from time to time I can be a tough customer. But I really do try to avoid belittling or veiled, insulting language to express my thoughts. Disagree though we may, I adm... |

No I don't make this error. Unless you are now promoted dualistic polytheism, Satan's existence isn't relevant. It doesn't matter if there are THOUSANDS of spirits going about, or MILLIONS, if only one of them is all-powerful and all-knowing, then this one would still have the ability to in practic... |
