Well, my son is right back at it, the first day of school, he got suspended for hitting a teacher, that was last week, I spoke to the principal, and reminded him of my son's needs, and he told me that, "when he's out of school, the police won't care if he has an IEP" basically labeling him as a crim...

Honestly I think it's a dollars and cents issue with the school, and if they can come up with another explanation for his behavior, one that won't look like they have neglected their end of things, then they will. I am not the type to seek a lawyer, but if it comes down to it, I will, I do not mess ...

We had an IEP meeting a month or so ago, wherein the district psychologist dismissed our psychologist's dx, and the initial findings of Far Northern Regional Services, Far Northern referred us to a specialist, who was trained by the Mind Institute in Davis, as well as UCSD and a couple other respect...

I had to demand he inform this parent, as the alternative would have been much worse. Here's a copy of the email that the other parent sent to the principal, names ommitted --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am writing yo...

So we had our first IEP meeting yesterday, the principal acted like the whole thing was his idea, although we requested this verbally several months ago, and were denied twice, so we put it in writing, and things are finally starting. First thing that happens is he suggests home schooling, we refuse...

A month ago, I had never heard of AS, now I find out my son has it, and upon further research into the matter, I seem to as well. I'm really having some problems coming to terms with myself, today it really got bad, I was sitting in my chair, thinking about everything, and I looked at my son, and ju...

Really, the only thing you can do, is send out mass emails refuting the claims of the spoofers, that way people who may not come here often aren't fooled.

I'm familliar with spoofing, I had that problem with my website, an unscrupulous individual got a hold of my member list and sent infected emails to all of my members, luckily, I was awake at the moment it happened, which was around 3am, so I was able to send out warnings to everybody, and nobody go...

I already expect a fight with the district, but at least now I'm armed. I plan on seeking out a local group to get whatever help I can, I know things aren't going to be easy, but they are going to be fair, and I'm going to do what it takes to make sure of that.

Oh, I know, some of my inlaws can't seem to wrap their thick skulls around this. They will learn to live with it, or they won't, my main concern is my son, not what people think of me, never cared about that before, not going to start now. We're already looking at what servicises are available to hi...

exactly, the past 3 years or so have been a real struggle, everybody is too quick to place blame on parents, I guess it's easier than working to find the root of a problem. I don't want to sound like I'm happy that my son has this, but I am happy that we can finally put a name to it, and take approp...

What a relief, now we can stop wondering, and take care of his needs properly. We're probably going to have to transfer him to a different district where they are better set up for him. I know we're only starting with this, but I feel the hardest part is behind me.

Exactly, besides, I really don't do confrontation well, the wife thrives on it, so while she's doing her thing, I usually take my son away from the situation, so he isn't made uncomfortable about it, heck, I'm so bad about confrontation, I change the channel when I see it on TV, I don't know why, bu...
