A moderator with a Napoleon Complex took out his anger on me and banned me from chat when it was two other people causing disturbance. This guy basically gave me an ultimatum and I told him the truth : " I have nothing to do with that " , and perma-banned me from the chat which is a pretty harsh thi...

Seems like you're an avid writer when it comes to this topic. Why don't you write a book, get it published, then send your mom a copy ?

Maybe she'll begin to understand her role in all this.

Again, don't do meds. Meds will not help you transcend this phenomenon that seems to be happening to you right now. I've been in a similar situation. I used to believe all the terrible things my mind would conjure up. Terrible nightmares basically of objectification (in my mind) of others and myself...

I'm in Florida and looking for a physical meeting to meet other autistics (like myself). Meetings in the Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale areas would be great. Meeting place and meeting times much appreciated :) I dunno if some meetings require a pre-screening or what have you ; totally new to this !

Mostly it depends on the context, but often (around people I don't know) people get this automatic "shields up" response when I walk up and interact with them. And I haven't even said a word or made a facial expression at them yet ! I've seen this too many times for it not to be true. I've been in s...

If I could afford speech therapy I would. Insurance companies don't cover any of that stuff, at least mine doesn't.

I am considering practicing on my own, you know making little speech videos.
It's work , but I think it will help me in the long run.

I guess in this Totalitarian system we have , (in the USA and UK), you just profusely thank anyone with capital for even considering to hire you. Not to mention you don't even know who these employers are, they could be seriously abusive to their employees. I've encountered quite a few employers her...

No, that's my answer. (Not for all cases, but most) How can you call someone a "friend" if you don't know what they're like in real life ? Especially when you don't know whether you can get along with them face to face in the real world. I myself prefer face to face interaction, given the person is ...

I just last week let go of a "friend" who I knew for about 2 years. For some reason he was acting out all his psychopathies on me in passive aggressive fashion and it took me a few minutes (last time I was with him) to figure out what he was doing; whether or not he was fully conscious of what he wa...

- I used to have very little eye contact , but now look at people straight in the eyes through training myself. It adds for much better social interaction. This is something I've been working on for the last year and a half. I'm able, most of the time now, to maintain eye contact without causing mys...

Thanks Scientist, that was helpful, not sure what to "make of it" though. Maybe you guys can weigh in and give me pointers. I took all 7 tests: BAP 82 on aloof 96 on rigid 87on pragmatic AQ: 30 (32 is considered "autistic") EIQ: 77 (kinda low , range 55 to 155) EQ SQ-R: EQ: 28 SQ: 92 HSP: 25 out of ...
