I'd just like to update here in case it's helpful to anyone. I explained again to my Dad, without using the A word, that I really can't handle people in my personal space, adding that I've ended friendships and relationships because of this problem. I also said that the reason I was so upset about i... |

Just to clarify - I don't mention the "A" word to him at all now and didn't in the cooking a meal scenario. I think what you're saying is that he can't be around me if he won't listen to what I need.....but the reason he can't "hear" what I need is because he's autistic. ..... I'... |

Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong catagory - I'm hoping for some suggestions. I'm 42 year old woman, AS diagnosed late in life, I work, manage my house and 14 year old daughter and have a structured social life and friends. I work with people on the spectrum professionally. I told my father of my... |

I'm undiagnosed, but had "classic male hair growth pattern" since puberty until very recently when I invested a lot of money in IPL. I've always felt more male psycologically, but physically it's like I was given too much female (ridiculously large breasts and curves) on top of a basic male base (ve... |

It's female chauvenists that are applying the pressure, not feminists, but there are a lot of chauvenists that call themselves feminists. I have an implant now, have been taking birth control that completely stops my periods for 20 years or so now (currently implanon) and that works really well. Bei... |

Did you both speak of what he could and couldn't do? What you wanted of him? Or, did you just stumble along without these things known? Not fair for him if he told you this stuff realistically and you said it was fine (like not going out to places with you) Not fair on you if you let him know what ... |

Hi Jackal, I haven't said he should find his own place to live. I don'#t think he'd survive living on his own, he's quote ehavily supported by his mother, almost no existant executive fucntioning ability. His special interest is his car, and he forgot to MOT and tax that last year. I've said that if... |

thanks again for the replies. I did finish it all 7 months ago because the way he was treating me was intolerable. Ignoring my clear statements of needs, manipluating me into doing what he wanted, even though it was damaging me, and blowing up whenever I tried to even talk about an issue (I posted a... |

hyper............if I do that he freaks out and gets very, very agressive verbally and attacks me calling me pathetic and stupid and whore and such...............he's hypersensitive to percieved criticism, he thinks I'm directly attacking him and trying to make him feel bad......... edit: oops, I wa... |

mv...........I needed that ! :) perhaps I should roll in there drunk, dressed head to toe in leather, smoking a j**nt and swearing my head off instead if creeping around ! certainly would solve the problem one way or another. I think I have taken on board the "single mother" comments as weel here. I... |

Biostructure, I definitely agree that he has unfinished adolesecnt business. It's like he completely stood still from his late teens until he started dating me at 33. He has said himself that he feels that he's "missed" out on his twenties - this was in response to me being upset about him flirting ... |

no he doesn't get into trouble with her, but I was his first girlfriend (sigh) a year and a half ago. In the beginning I was trying to be patient, he said he felt like he was doing something wrong when he was with me, he was very anxious, he said he would try and stay over here.........in a year and... |

thanks for the reply hyper.... He has said that he accepts that I won't see him at his mother's house, and that he won't ask me to again, but he's annoyed about it and thinks I'm being unreasonable. He says he doesn't know if he can live with it in the long term. And so whilst I know that for now th... |
