When you're interested in a person, it implies you'll be interested in anything that concerns them, and will seek out things that concern them, even if you don't normally care about those things.

It may be a cultural thing. At any rate it is very possible to creep neurotypicals out by maintaining too much eye contact.

Eye contact doesn't bother me unless I'm thinking very hard, at which point it has much the same effect as a loud sound or a flash of light.

It comes and goes. Of late I can at least delay it until I'm out of earshot. Used to be I'd repeat myself under my breath after most sentences. Maybe I was checking for errors?
