In my experience... kind of. There's less physical violence. People aren't quite as verbally abusive. They still lie to you though (administrations) about what options are there for you, and about any support, mostly though at that point it's more on to the usual adult approach of "we don't really g... |

1. To make a trade: my life for my dad's back when he got the cancer. I'd take the cancer and the heart condition and the eventual death, I'd want to take that all. He was worth more to those around him than I ever will be, he was loved, of use to others, of value to society and I loved him so much ... |

Yeah... it certainly doesn't suit all with AS. I left that ****hole when it became apparent it was the same 'special needs for people dumber than us normal people' program as always, more about forcing people with AS into being more normal than ever getting around to making use of our strengths. The... |

I am wondering if the "not feeling well" is anger/anxiety. It is almost a constant for us. Many times a day she says this. Sometimes she says her stomach hurts, sometimes she says her head hurts, sometimes it's that she feels nauseous and when she goes into a meltdown she wretches like she is going... |

We are using the Trader Joe's chewable too. So, I give him 1/2 pill as well. When I talked to the Neuro about this on Friday, he was really surprised how effective such a small dose was on him. He said it was "barely a dose" since the average dose is more like 2 or 3mg! Anyway, he said if it's work... |

Well, I'd feel awful if I discriminated against only one type of health care professional. So I have no confidence in any type of doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists or any of that lot. Generally speaking it's cheaper to find a beggar and give them 10 bucks to dismiss everything you say and tell y... |

(Just noticed, those saying 85 and 90 is slow... are we using a different standard of measure?) Well, to me fast is anything that can get my healer out of the fire he doesn't seem to realize he's standing in before he dies in an online game (usually a few seconds tops), or let me get vital info acr... |

I consider myself lucky in a twisted sort of way. My tormentors were mostly boys, so physical pain, the terror of the chase, that was mine and I could probably take that more than what girls dished on one another. After a while a punch doesn't really hurt any more, not the way it does at first - you... |

Kind of.. but I'm starting to find that those I used to be friends with in RL - I just don't want their company any more. I'm finding prefer the online company I keep to real people. Amazingly people I've never seen seem more sensitive to whether I'm in pain or not than people I'm sitting right next... |

Use qwerty here, not sure what my exact speed is. Because of a slight processing delay in reading there's also a difference when I'm writing things I am saying (fastest), things I had a chance to read before (second fastest) and things that are appearing as I type (slooow, and there I know for sure ... |

It occurs to me that you could replace the word homosexual with autistic and still get the same arguments and questions. Well, instead of sexual acts we'd have acting autistic with meltdowns or stimming or what have you, and instead of urges we, well they're not sexual urges (usually) but I guess ho... |

People sometimes envy my mask, but they don't envy me. They may think they do if they believe me to be the mask, but the envy is not for who I am but for who the mask is. I can understand why, it's a really nice mask and I've put a great deal of work and effort into making it presentable. It can do ... |

I generally detest how much space, money and time is given to sports in ... well in just about every aspect of life that isn't sports. I don't hate sports as such, some of them I even enjoy watching. I just hate how they're practically forced down your throat and it's always the same games. But of c... |

I understand that some don't want to be cured and that is their right, but some of us would give ANYTHING for a cure. Naw, not too weird. I can recognize that it's me in the mirror, but yeah, I've also had moments (rare now though) where I've looked at say my hand and been like "whoa, what's that thing, is that really mine? It must be, it's moving when I will it to, but it really doesn't feel like it does it?" or "... |

Do you think actors are flattered when people find their characters attractive and obsess over them (keeping it strictly to the character itself, of course)? I would think they think, you're a whacko. I had an obsession with trying to act/dress like "Perry" from "Two-moon junction". I tried to act ... |
