Why do I feel the same, that I wasted years by not giving 100% of me, of my time, to the world. Even though 100% wasn't really mine to give, I needed some percents just to remain functional, I feel I should have done more. I know this is silly, but I still feel it. I am smart. I am capable. I do bu...

In chronological order: 1) Veterinarian (I love animals and wanted to "save all of them" -- I was pretty idealistic) 2) Astronaut (on account of space being "cool" and all that) 3) Video game developer/programmer (around middle school after watching a ton of G4's "Icons"...

I would be jubilant, overjoyed, etc. and then probably begin dating her. I do like the "divide by zero" consequence, though.

I'm not even sure what "love yourself" even means. Can you have a crush on yourself? I love my son and I'd put myself in harms way to save him. How would that work for myself. "He died saving himself." Yeah, it seems more like a combination of a few ideas (self-acceptance, a wil...

I also appreciate the various perspectives posted thus far and I like the diversity of thought. I honestly believe that "loving yourself" is really watered-down BS like a few of you have mentioned. What it means to me is lazy shorthand for the related concepts of "self-trust" and...

Plenty of movies that people love I have found myself abhorring: 1. Avatar (transcended overrated, mediocre plot reminiscent of Jamestown/Clichétown) 2. The Matrix (not as intellectual/"heady" as I would have liked or as interesting) 3. The Matrix's sequels (three hundred times crappier than the ori...

I like this post and I would agree with you. Males especially need to stop with the "women = property in five minutes of talking to me" idea and not be so serious in pursuit of a relationship. I feel as though relationships work under the science of luck: if you are not aggressively pursuing a speci...

You can be "nice," but what women hate is a man who is not confident. As long as you are not aloof and look confident and caring, you will be attractive. Done this before numerous times. Women do actually hate someone who is rude and nasty, even if he does not act that way with them.

Seriously though, people who find it boring should stop playing if they wish. I play to raid, and I don't care if the gear is replaced in 1 year, 1 month, or 1 week - it's the challenge that's fun :) Indeed, bring on the Hard Modes. Hero Mode (HM) is only difficult for the healers. Tanks can just d...

People cause violence, not videogames. The people with violent tendencies are more likely to play the violent games and have poor impulse control enough to emulate them.

Who said technology was slowing down? It has merely moved into cloud computing and distributed models. It is easier and cheaper to distribute a task than create a computer like Roadrunner to crunch numbers for it.

I can't believe that there are some people around here who think it's a bad thing to take pride in looking like a chubbier celebrity who isn't superficial about money or his looks like the plastic celebrities of the past 20 years are. The disdain is because those qualities do not sell in Hollywood;...

I find the holiday is merely useless frivolity. I don't think there needs to be a day where I am expected to love someone "more" than any other day and/or purchase crap for her.

I take the day for what it is and move on. Best to treat it as just another day, not a "Hallmark holiday."
