Do people look the same to you?

It feels like people dress the same, speak the same. Even the "rebellous" look and act the same as each other. (Goths, Punks, Anime Fans, etc.) How can it truly be nonconformity?
Only older ppl look different to me.

I've been flipped off by groups of 13 year old girls before just for doing my cleaning job. People really need to adjust their attitudes. One of the things I noticed about my former job is that the children with disabilities were the best behaved. I had no problems with them or their parents. It's t...

I am very grateful to my parents for what they've done for me. They fought a school system that was hell bent on forcing me to conform to their stereotypes. (I.E. kids with syndromes are not supposed to be smart, go to college, etc.) There have been times when they were the only ones who would stand...

I see the world through logic. Anyone else? For instance, I had to clean up puke in my last job and it was an outside job. Why did people puke NEXT to the garbage cans and on the grass? Why didn't they puke on the pavement so it could be cleaned better? Or, if someone tells you that you can't do som...

How about having a specialized PE class? I was in one of those and I did just fine. If there is no speicalized class, there are ways to get out of it via the ADA laws. I am also not coordinated and I never saw the point of sports. "If a few students off themselves, so what, they were damaged goods a...

I highly disagree with you, awesomely. Schools are intentionally bad, it's just more subtle. Schools in poor neighborhoods are bad because they are intentionally underfunded. For instance, school milliages are taken from property taxes. In poverty-stricken areas, property values are lower. Also, inc...

What type of summer job should I get? I know that I don't want anything too stressful or crazy. Working alone would be great and I refuse to handle money because keeping track of things is always hard. I work well with people when I get to be nice to them. Any job where I've had to enforce rules see...

"because the public school system is effectively controlled and operated by those whom cater to the overarching economic and social elite. Its desire is to dumb down the students, not to increase their levels of intelligence, and turn them into mere automatons for the business world." Karl Marx woul...

Truth-seeker, you're not alone on this one. America is really conformist when you think about it. If you aren't skinny, aren't nt, aren't white (it's better than it was but still needs improvement), aren't a submissive woman or an agressive man, aren't heterosexual, or anything else I've probably mi...

Ok, let's hope for a name change. What parent is going to say yes when their kids ask for "Wii," knowing how it's pronounced?

I was mad enough when a new system was announced less than 2 months after I had gotten a game cube....

The problem I've always had with studies is that they only cover the symptoms. I've never seen a research paper about aspies and how to improve their lives- especially in school. Personal stories are not taken into account. We're not just a walking mass of symtomps and dysfunctions. Not all asperger...

It sucks when people ditch you for no reason. Hope things start looking up.

I hope this relationship lasts, but if the relationship ends, you will need a friend to fall back on. I feel lucky to have such a person after my ex cheated.

I understand how you feel. Getting a diagnosis might help put a finger on your experiences and put them in context. I know it helped me a lot. Also, you would be a good resource for your daughter. The problem is that there aren't many aspie resources in America, espcially for adults. I ended up with...

I've always had this feeling I was different, and, needless to say, not in a good way. Part of it has to do with how I was treated when I was in school, and part of it is because I have differnet interests. Usually, I feel like that in an environment where I feel alienated, but not in environments w...

I really think it depends on the college. The college I'm in now has a reputation of being a party school. It's not an environment I fit into very well because I cannot relate to people who drink all the time. Make sure you find this out first before you go. Even if you end up in this type of enviro...
