Hi everyone. My 21-year-old daughter asked me to post here on her behalf. (She hasn't made an account here, and is shy about diving into a new forum and asking questions right away.) She's living at home with her mother and her youngest sister, and is halfway through a math degree at university. (He... |

('Paxil kills your sex drive' my ass!). LOL! When I was on it, it didn't kill my sex drive, but it made orgasms impossible. Very, very, very, very frustrating. I thought if I wrote out my ultimate fantasy as a novel it would let off some steam, but truth be told, I think it made things worse.;-p Da... |

Oh heavens, no problem. I take discussions like these as great learning opportunities. |

So, if anyone gets subsidised, there must be far more deserving parts of Canada. Nunavut, for instance, or the other northerly, isolated parts of Canada where not a lot happens. I imagine those places to be hellishly provincial, cold and dark but also to have their own good qualities about them too... |

I wish I was old enough to be able to properly compare to the Harper government to the Mulroney government, who was in power for the bulk of my childhood. All I can remember about him is that he had a son, who became a very annoying host of an entertainment news program. :P Many similarities betwee... |

It is the polarization that troubles me. If the Liberal Party does not reinventi itself and NDP remains true to itself, then the Conservatives have secured the keys to 24 Sussex for, I would guess, 30 of the next 40 years. Canadian voters have demonstrated time and again at the provincial level tha... |

I've determined that there is a primary difference between left-wingers and right-wingers.
Most left-wingers think government should help everybody, except big business.
Most right-wingers think government shouldn't help ANYBODY ...
... except ... (you know where this is going, right?) |

Can't wait to watch the results! I'm wondering whether, being here in the US, I'll be able to get any of the early results. (The first polls close in Newfoundland at 8.30 pm NDT = 4.00 pm PDT = 2300 UTC.) Offically, cbc.ca et al. aren't starting any online coverage until the polls close in BC (7.00 ... |

I like the "jury duty" model for elections. Everyone who's eligible (citizen, over 18, not currently in jail, what have you) has a chance of being picked randomly to serve on your city council/county council/state or provincial legislature/federal legislature or parliament. Those chosen then have to... |

I suspect that there are a number of traits which could be considered "autistic". And I suspect that many of them are independent of each other; that is, just because you have traits A or B doesn't mean you're necessarily more likely to have traits X and Y. If we knew which traits those were, we cou... |

I did OK with creative writing. But when I've tried to write fiction, it tends to suck. OTOH, with non-fiction (i.e. reports at work, papers, articles), I write very well. So, in my case, I think it's something like "I'm a good writer, but a lousy creator of stories." I suspect many on the spectrum ... |

The survey claims that I am more socially liberal and slightly to the left of the Conservative Party but the other parties are too far to the left. If I lived in Canada I'm not sure I'd bother voting. A lot of people thought the turnout for this election would be like the turnout for the 2008 elect... |

From my experience, most people picked on me because I came flustered and couldn't rebuke them or attack them back. There were also times with passive bullying that I didn't realize I was being bullied. I think that we are picked on so much simply because we are different from neurotypicals, and th... |

That may all very well be true, but Main Line Mormons (LDS) are not Marixst Communists. They are not even Socialists. Ahh, but if you look back at my very first post on this topic, my first line was: Mormon doctrine sees a voluntary communitarianism as the ideal community. However, it's quite diffe... |

Mormon doctrine sees a voluntary communitarianism as the ideal community. However, it's quite different from communism or socialism. Most American Mormons are very, very right wing, even by American standards. I'm a socialist Mormon from Canada living in California, and my fellow Saints here don't ... |

Curious.... If you're Canadian, what do you think of the campaign so far? Which party do you usually support? Which party are you supporting this time around? What do you think of the party leaders? What do you think of the possible outcomes? If you're not Canadian, have you even heard about this el... |
