I totally understand how easy it is to confuse AS and an anxiety disorder. I was completely convinced that I had Aspergers for a long time, but that was before I had any idea about the possibility of an anxiety disorder. I had just always felt this anxious, and I didn't realize that was what I was f... |

Yeah, it obviously is harder for people with low iqs,Im not trying to complain, just saying that it isn't always as easy as people assume. People tend to make so many assumptions about other people, and it really drives me insane. A lot of people dislike me because of my OCD and my other quirks, but... |

People on the spectrum can also have genius level IQ, in case you didn't know that. It is harder in some ways I think for smart people. Haha, no i definitely knew that one! I agree. Everyone always tells me I have it easy, and I know that it will be easier for me when I'm older because I wil... |

My school chorus is going to NYC to see a show on Broadway, as well as going shopping and to dinner. I am really excited, but also feeling REALLY anxious. My anxiety and OCD have been flaring up the past few days, and I am freaking out! I have a few questions, and would also just like some words of ... |

Thanks for being so accepting guys! Sorry about my profile, I had clicked that by accident, but it wont let me change it back. Anyway, I totally agree with the fact that anxiety disorder and aspergers have many symptoms in common, and there is also sort of a cause and effect thing going on. For most... |

Wow has it been a while! Haha, anyway, well, this has been quite a year mental health wise... I finally was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, as well as OCD and Panick Disorder. Nope, no aspergers. A lot of my symptoms of asperger's really seem to just be the severe anxiety. The resistanc... |

Who do you trust? I agree with MountainLaurel about not limiting yourself. When I was at a stage similar to you, I talked to several people - professionals, friends, and relatives. And if your mother's researching it, that doesn't mean that she thinks for sure you have it. She might suspect, or she... |

Certainly not what happened to me, instead I was shunted off to a grandparent yet still forced to see my family everyday...and shunted off to the same school as them so they could be the bullies ringmaster. Not really any wonder that I never bothered to go, all my mum cared about is how it would re... |

I think i am going to talk to my psychologist first about this whole thing. She knows more about my social struggles and i just think it'll work out better. Thanks so much for the input! And keep it coming! Even if i don't find your advice all that useful, it's still sort of comforting. And i could ... |

I would want to talk to all the important people in my life, but the poll is supposed to be more for like who I should talk to first. Because my psychologist would tell my parents and my parents would tell her. If I do go to my mom first, what should I say? I only have planned what to day to my psyc... |

When i got home from school today, i went onto my moms computer to look something up. There was a search term left in the Google box. "Aspergers and adolescence". I was shocked. So, i pressed search to find that my mother had been researching Aspergers! Oh. My. God. The story of how i came to find t... |
