The only one that doesn't fit is the "imposition of routines and interests". For some reason, I have a hard time understanding this; although, when I think about it, it drives me crazy when people do certain things in a way other than what I would do...

Yes- they tell me all the time. Do I care? Not nearly as much as I did when I was younger. Yeah. I used to care a lot more as a child. I remember they would tease and bother me and I woul get under my desk and have a meltdown, since no one could 'get' me under my desk... then I would go home and cr...

I know that I am intellectually above average, and that some people are intellectually subordinate to me and some are intellectually superior. I sometimes find dealing with people who are intellectually subordinate to me to be tedious. This does not mean that they are not cool people, or that I disl...

Ah. A very pertinent question on which to ease myself back into WP. 1) I am still in school, but only until March. Then I am finished, hopefully forever. 2) I will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree. 4) I am currently employed. 5) I don't know that I am underemployed, as technically my job requires a...

You are a Lynx You are a quiet observer of the world around you. Your wisdom comes from listening carefully. You've always been extra sensitive and aware. And it's made it difficult for you to fit in. You see past people's outward personas. You are able to penetrate a stranger's soul. What you've le...

You are an abstract thinker. You seek wisdom in its many forms. You are interested in art, literature, history, phi...

Your son should be commended for being such an insightful and bright little guy. And I don't see anything wrong with the topic of ghosts; many NT children (and adults) are fascinated with them as well. Does he attend a religously affiliated school where the concept of ghosts would be seen as contrad...

Places like shopping malls, stations and airports really stress me out. Not because of sensory issues though, but because I get wound up about the stupidity and amount of inconsiderate people. People who block busy sidewalks with their baggage or shopping carts. People who abandon half-empty coffee...

I have a terrible time with right and left. I know my right from my left, but if someone says something like "look at the image on the right side of your screen" I'll almost always look on the left side, and vice versa. I have to be very careful when giving directions because even though I see the p...

That's like asking what the bare minimum time you need to spend with your girlfriend before she leaves you for ignoring her. The answer is that you're asking the wrong question. If you hate socializing with your friends or anyone else and you don't need to, then the correct time to spend is 0 hours...

It depends. From my perspective, not at all. But from the perspective of "our NT overlords", you might be found lacking. Seriously, though, I've also wondered about the answer to this question. How do you define normal?

I think that it's interesting that so many people here downplay the effects of the social aspect of aspergers. Yes, there are many symptoms that are involved that get less attention, and for some they are the most severe. That is not the case for me. I have a very limited desire for social interacti...

Hello. I am dx'd with Major Depressive Disorder, but I think it's more likely Dysthymia. I did attempt suicide once, but it was sixteen years ago, and I don't believe that I will ever attempt it again. I agree that you adjust to being depressed over the course of a lifetime, and find coping methods ...

I am very sensitive to cold; I get cold very easily and I hate air conditioning in the summer. I often keep something long-sleeved around to put on inside in the summer. People look at me as if I'm crazy. If I come inside on a hot day and the air conditioning is turned up high, it makes my stomach r...

I have often been told that I am arrogant and insubordinate at work. I think that it often has to do with the fact that I am not as clueless as many of my supervisors and co-workers, I don't make a secret of it, and they don't like me much because of it. I am trying to soften my approach a little to...
