Today I bought my dad a Father's Day card and now having doubts about sending it. My dad and I have never been close - he was what most folks referred to as a deadbeat dad. He paid child support but had to be garnished to do so. I did not see him at all between the ages of 9 and 15, his choice. I'm ...

Don't like talking on the phone at all, see it as a waste of time for the most part. I'm not a chit-chatter so spending even 30 minutes on the phone sounds unbearable to me. Most of my friends who will enjoy taking the time to talk on the phone...they are so self-centered it drives me batty. These f...

I closed my FB account almost a year ago due to similar reasons. It also made me feel bad so I figured closing it was the easiest thing to do to get away from that. I don't miss having a FB account although a few friends (actual friends, not just FB friends) have said they wish I was still on there....

Thanks for replying. Logically I agree with what you said about not presuming it was something I did. Past experience with female friends makes me automatically "go there" and always assume I was the one who did something wrong. If only one of them was not communicating with me, I might be more apt ...

I'm 40 and work in an office - the only place I have really met people in the area I have lived in the last 5 years. I used to work with two women, 28 and 30yo, and I thought we were friends. At least decent work friends. They were both friends outside of work before I met either of them. I met the ...

How frustrating. While I can't say I've been in the exact same situation with my mom, I can relate to the manipulation you describe. My mom can cry on demand and everyone thinks she's just the sweetest person around. She's not but anyone who is acquainted with both of us would - I'm sure - say she w...

Thanks for your responses. I don't really care to socialize at all. I have varied interests but mostly live "inside my head." Don't care to talk a whole lot because it makes me feel tired. I am definitely a introvert along with everything else. Just wish I could get rid of that pesky loneliness that...

I am 40/female and undiagnosed AS. Most of the time I am very comfortable with just being around myself and don't really feel a big need for friends. I don't really spend time with other people besides my husband of 16 years and our kids, unless you count work. I'm very introverted and a lot of talk...

Hi, new here.....just got done posting in the forum for newbies but do have a specific topic to discuss. I'm 40/female (undiagnosed AS and extremely introverted) and work in the engineering field. 99% of the time it's great because I work with people with many of the same issues as I deal with - as ...

Hi, my name is Marie, 40 years old, undiagnosed but have researched for a few years now......fit the criteria. Asperger's explains a LOT in terms of my life, especially social stuff with other women.....which I am absolutely NO good at/generally not interested in. However, I work full-time in the en...
