Hey OP...is anyone helping you with it? Let me know if you have questions or a problem you need to solve. I am sure others on here would help as well. ^^ It can be tricky, but if you want to do well, find something you can apply it to and get interested in. |

Hi VIDEODROME!
I loved 'Secretary'. Great film. James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal were awesome at playing those characters. |

You are definitely not alone, OP. Sounds like something I would say in my "too honest" moments. |

@Tequila You are right about people breaking the rules, and getting put out of the community. The basis is trust and security. As for 24/7 D/s relationships go, I have no experience, nor do I want any. I'll quote Sir Stephen: "As long as you're mine, you'll do what I say, but it's your choice whethe... |

@onestepbeyond Hi. :-) Well...for some people (like myself) these are not just "kinks" or "turn-ons", rather, they are a way of life and understanding of sexuality. In this sense, it affects other parts of your life which may be more obvious to family members. Therefore, you end up doing more and mo... |

Ahhhh. Balance. My old arch enemy. Yes. I have experienced that in my marriage, but it was not only in my marriage. Any time I started spending "quality" time doing anything, friends seemed to get neglected. Most of the time i wouldn't notice until something was said...then feelings of extreme guilt... |

@hyperlexian Thanks for the input! I do think it depends on the people you want to talk to (family, in my case). Some members of my family are fundamentalist Christians (with whom I have no intention of opening up), and some are "liberal" feminists (which is easier in a way, but again, brings up oth... |

Good replies. Fetlife is a good place to talk to other people...my partner and I are also on FL. :P Well...for what it is worth, I agree with pretty much everyone I know and everyone who replied here. What I have taken from this experience is that is is best to leave some doors closed with friends/f... |

@MXH I know. Tell me about it. I guess with some people, it's best just to avoid certain topics altogether...but if you have to avoid EVERY topic, because you don't agree on religion, politics, OR sexuality...it can lead to exponential increase in difficulty/awkwardness when trying to see them or in... |

Ouch. No session should ever escalate to anything beyond what it is. I hope you or anyone else involved were never harmed.
I did keep this a secret in the past, but I felt like telling someone close to me (besides my partner). I am still not sure why.... |

@MXH
I'm so sorry to hear that your family can/will not respect your choices. I guess you have already tried asking them why? ^^ You are right, and I agree with you on what you said. Sometimes, it's best not to mention some things. I just have a hard time figuring out when that is. |

I recently came out about my BDSM lifestyle to a family member. Believe me, that was NOT easy. This family member is a very outspoken feminist, and didn't quite understand at first that both genders are generally accepted as equal in the 'scene' as a whole. This led to complications in the explanati... |

I am an engineering student, but I tend to get obsessively stuck on:
Artifcial Neural Networks
Design/construction of model (flyable) jets
Trying to understand feminism and masculism and other controversial issues
These things take much of my time away from my main goal. :-/ |

AI is a huge favorite topic for me. :-) It would be nice if we could just make a one-to-one correlation between the transistors on a processor and the number of neurons in a brain. Unfortunately, we need integer values (or floating point numbers) for the artificial neuron's weighted inputs, in order... |
