Simply wondering, to those of you with Asperger's, or an ASD, how did you feel upon being diagnosed? Were you diagnosed early on, or later in life? And how did you feel about it? For me, even though I had been exhibiting signs since I was 5 or 6, but I was finally diagnosed at the age of 14. For me,...

I know I have a lot of trouble when it comes to writing out social interactions, because everyone's a robot when I do. I then I usually go out to like a food court or something and write down everything I hear and see...which is difficult at times. I also will take ideas/insperation from other books...

I suppose for most people, looking "autistic" basically means you are ret*d by most social standards. You can't dress yourself, you yell and scream randomly, and basically you're a vegetable. However, most of us with a high functioning form of autism, or Asperger's may look and sound completely norm...

I love sweaters and sweatshirts, so usually I'm wearing one or the other. Or both, since my core temperature is probably 0. (Seriously, I'm always cold. I'll have around 5 layers on in August) Then I usually have black jeans and combat boots/Vans. And my hair is usually swept up in some messy bun of...

When I was younger I had 3 to 4 tantrums a day, but around 2nd grade they stopped. Now I only have a huge meltdown around once or twice a year, and that usually involves a huge project or deadline

Well at the moment I'm obsessed with the human body. So that leads me to looking up diagrams, pictures and any information I can get my hands on. A lot of the times, it's not the most appropriate...
I'm also obsessed with psychology and medicine...but that's not exactly embarrassing.

Well, it isn't really a joke, more of a humorous comment my friend said to me.

So I was shaking like crazy before a big saxophone audition, and she notices I'm upset. So she says:

"I'd hug you right now, but you have Asperger's"

I thought that was funny :D
