I think perhaps they had it confused with a different syndrome. Still very rude, what a back handed compliment. Attractiveness is really subjective though and all sorts of people can be beautiful despite having disabilities normally associated with unattractiveness. As it goes all the people I know ...

Some people should just not have children, NT, Aspie, able bodied, disabled or anything. They probably shouldn't be allowed pets either :-( Lots of people do choose to have children though when there's a good chance of them being something other than NT. My brother was a test tube baby for older par...

For the first time this week we really got to see just how ultra chilled our therapy ponies are compared to most. Had to take in a horse that had been found running loose locally and it was so stressed by our yard and being lost too I think, in the end I bought one of ours over to try calm it down w...

In the UK I think the most similar legal drug is probably Ritalin (aka kiddy speed) and that's not even a true amphetamine. Still a Class B without prescription though. It's very dangerous to self prescribe and over here the legal system reflects that, strict penalties for possession of amphetamines...

Question for NTs: I have no special interests per se, but I do go through stages of watching entire series of TV shows back-to-back. Would you say that's a particularly non-NT thing to do or do some of you do this as well? I don't think many NTs do this but i definitely do! I am Aspie. NTs do this ...

I would have no problem being referred to as NT :-) it's just a blanket term. Same as I have no problem being referred to as English, white, female, etc.

I've been away at uni so not had time to check back in on this thread for ages! We have two welshies now and its going great. My brother's riding is coming along really well and its good to get him away from all the computer games and dvds he's currently obsessing over. The other children have stopp...

HorseBoy do camps which would be lovely to go to as a family, the social skills bit is from having other children come around and help him groom and I've been recommended that I teach the pony some agility that my brother can get him to do from the ground asa sort of "trick". At the moment his speci...

We have dogs too, he kept trying to ride the dogs. :? Small pets aren't really a physical activity, this way he gets outdoors and away from the computer more. Also it's a good way to get people to come visit him, I don't want to offend AS people but he is a little strange and NT children have stoppe...

Noooo we definitely don't abuse our pony :) He's very loved. On the whole horses are very peaceful, we were hoping this would be a good influence, rather than a killing or maiming one

He is Aspie too, the meltdowns are usually because he's in a situation where he is meant to be sorry. Or he's excited and we've asked him to calm down. He has no fear or sense of embarrassment

My brother does. Sometimes it happens in really dangerous situations and we have to physically restrain him because otherwise he'll run into the road or something sharp! I as an NT have to be VERY excited to "spazz" out. I got offered an awesome job and an I did an actual victory dance. It was in pu...
