If you like "point of inquiry" check out "for good reason" it's hosted by D J Grothie who used to host POI. I like SGU too.

I'm not sure where I found this, may have been here. I hate these tests. Honest doesn't work for me either. Assessments # Daniel Says: July 11, 2008 at 11:05 pm Ok this is a list of 99 questions. I score 100% with these answers. All answers are Strongly Agree (SA) or Strongly Disagree (SD) 1.You lov...

I do feel like relationships are a constant source of stress. I have a girlfriend and we have been dating for nearly two years, but I still feel so distant and sometimes I feel like she is amused by me or she thinks my oddness is entertaining or something. She accepts me, but those feelings are stil...

It may be little consolation, but what you write here and in the other post it sounds like you are describing my life. I have learned to sort of separate myself from all of this stuff and look at it with some detachment although it is my life. This does keep me from falling into major depression or ...

That whole LSD thing sounds very familiar to me. One thing that LSD and similar drugs are great at is shaking you out of your learned perspective or bias. They can definitely make you see things from a new angle. I had a similar experience on a different drug before I ever learned of AS. It was just...

You might find this interesting. It's a show called "to the best of our knowledge" on NPR. One of the segments is about this guy who heard voices all his life and he never told anyone. So apparently he was able to tell the difference. http://www.pluggd.tv/audio/channels/to_the_best_of_our_knowledge/...

I have only learned about quantum through popular books such as Brian Greene's as well as a course from The Teaching Company. I don't have the time to get very deep into it, but I felt I had a pretty good general grasp when I was studying it. Most of the oddities seemed as if they could just as easi...

Well I thought it looked more like algebra than physics.

Sorry to have wasted your time sir.
But then I rather think you enjoyed pointing out how ignorant I am of the things that I asked.

From http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/Quantum/bells_inequality.html Using the example of two photons configured in the singlet state, consider this: after separation, each photon will have spin values for each of the three axes of space, and each spin can have one of two values; call them up an...

I don't have a problem with things being counterintuitive, if there is good evidence for them. Its just that from what I have read it often seems as though there are other possible explanations for things. I also have a huge problem with chance - I am not sure there even is such a thing, or whether...

I got into similar trouble after a major depressive episode years ago. The bank doesn't want to deal with collections so they sell the debt at a discounted rate to these people. This is why they are willing to settle and why you shouldn't feel at all guilty about paying less than you owe. This is ho...

Hey there I clicked on this thread because I can't count the number of times that I have had the same thought running through my head. Well I wasn't at all suggesting that one shouldn't show compassion to persons with BPD. It's just that this "emotional addiction" idea was an interesting revelation to me, and it made me examine my own emotional regulation more closely.

Borderline Personality means being borderline between neurotic and insane. This is what I always thought. But here is a quote from the NIMH website which supports what I was saying above. "Originally thought to be at the "borderline" of psychosis, people with BPD suffer from a disorder of emotion r...

I've been thinking about this issue a lot. I dated someone who had been diagnosed as BPD and this was a crazy dynamic in our relationship. However someone else I had dated a few years back had stated that she thought that I had BPD. So this girl that I dated who had been diagnosed and obviously fit ...
