I am a mother of a possible AS son who is 10. I have a friend who I am sure is AS but has never told me . The teen years are difficult enough and if he perhaps he feels he views things differently then other kids he may wonder why. If it was me I may want to know why I do not react the same way to t...

I had some of the same experiences, told it was a phase and nothing to worry about. I do not have a diagnosis yet but the process is starting. We do not nessessarily want to change our children but it is in their best interest that we understand the way they think and view things. Commincation to th...

The main difference between AS and ADHD is the ability to concentrate on one thing for extended periods of time. For instance an AS person can find a particular interest fascinating - and concentrate well on that subject for hours, sometimes tuning out all other noise and activity. An ADHD kid can'...

What I mean is, is there something like an Autism housing program that helps people with autism acquire their own place of residence? Is there a program that gives bur...

I'm about 99.9% sure that my significant other has asperger's, and we have 2 children together. I have started thinking about it and I wonder if our oldest is AS as well. He's only 3 though, so I would imagine it's hard to diagnose children so young. He was always "different" he was colicky first o...

Well I hope I am not wrong because if I am , I am the stupidest person on the planet. I have known this person since the age of 14, we are both 40 now. You do not treat someone you have known that long the way I perceived I have been treated. I will know soon enough if I am being written off.

It was a factual account and not an emotionally charged letter. I am keeping my fingers crossed but I really believe he needed to see in writing his aff...

I am what I guess is called NT. at least from any qui...
