Those several people have a point, I somewhat agree with them. You can't be blind if you can see. Ah, but some people who are legally blind have some visual perception. You can be an autistic extrovert. It's not very common, but it isn't like extroversion and autism are mutually exclusive. It would... |

How does one know when one is being overly self-critical? Do you ever worry about perceived failure to meet positive ASD criteria? eg: "I'm supposed to be detail-oriented, how could I possibly make that mistake?" or "I'm supposed to have obsessive interests and use them to develop skills others don'... |

In grade 5 we learned Lego/LOGO (like a primitive form of Lego Mindstorm, using the LOGO programming language), on an old (even then) Apple IIe. Lego and computer programming were two things I loved, I had done some BASIC before and as I recall, I had run out of things to read in that classroom, so ... |

I do a lot of programming that is oriented toward analysis and distribution of security-related data, systems and network administration to support the running of those systems developed via aforementioned programming, sometimes reverse engineering, sometimes advising other teams within the orga... |

I find these references to pulling toys apart interesting. I rarely pulled my toys apart, probably for the same reason that an early interest in electronics was directed instead to computer programming - my fingers were too clumsy to follow my brain's orders, and breaking something was (and is) The ... |

The warm water and isolation from the outside world tends to get me on a train of thought and I lose track of time very easily, in that case, I might take a 10-15 minute shower. Because of this tendency, when I am in a hurry, I will "play" a song in my head while I shower that I know to be roughly 2... |

As far as what Ishkur said about it, under "Big Beat" genre, he wrote: Ahh, Big Beat. This is the genre that finally made the homophobic frat house crowd finally accept that p**** electronic music at their Saturday night kegger parties. I mean, they still thought it was gay, but not as gay as that ... |

I figure dubstep actually has a lot of mainstream appeal, as it's the least "gay" of all techno music, it tries to be really masculine and "grimy" and whatever. Lots of people that otherwise don't listen to EDM listen to dubstep, as it's acceptable music to listen to now, basically once in a while ... |

Yes, if it's fast and/or complex enough to be interesting. I listened to a bit of drum 'n' bass and "IDM" before I was aware of dubstep, so I like dubstep that sounds somewhat similar, but heavily distorted, with incidental vocal samples, bass drops and rubato sections. If it's only half-time kick-s... |

The language in which I have read AS interests described seems to imply that the interest is quite specific, for example, locomotives manufactured by Clyde Engineering in the 1960s. Personally, however, I find myself to be more of an "all-rounder" than my (assumed) NT peers in my profession/interest... |

Yes, all the time. At work, I often have to clarify "No, I said 'x' because I meant exactly 'x'", which is a little annoying when one is dealing with other technical IT people, who are supposed to be precision and detail-oriented. What they do is to "read between the lines" and assume I must have me... |

FSIQ is known to be often inaccurate when measuring intellectual functioning of people on the spectrum due to the unusually wide subscore scatter. My VCI was 12-22 points higher than the other 3 subscores, for example. I answered, though. |
