So, you're stuck at home. Any chances you'll develop any skills? Carpentry, computer programming, jewelry making, cake decorating??? I can't afford any education courses. I don't get free courses because I have higher than Level 3 qualifications. I cannot learn those skills as I have no means to af... |

I have a medical problem other than AS that would stop me from getting a licence, it is not me thinking so that would stop me but a real medical problem. FACT. Not sure about the distance, it would have to be in the normal times when public transport is running (i.e. not after a certain time). I don... |

No one listens. I cannot drive, FACT. So jobs involve driving (as in doing driving, or driving to the workplace) are out. I am not lazy or something because I can't drive, I cannot legally get a licence. That is fact. No driving, and no expense. |

Why suggest driving anyway? Even if I was able to get to be able to drive legally, I would need at least £6000-8000/year for insurance let alone lessons from scratch or buying a car. I don't have any money at all. No one helps, no one is interested, social services don't help. |

I don't actually go out of the house at all unsupervised, social services won't help me no matter how many times I ask for help, I have no friends. I would need to use public transport to get to any job, NO DEVIATION, it must be public transport or I cannot get there. Also, there are NO POSITIVES to... |

I can't work nights, I have to use public transport which doesn't run in the evening/nights. I cannot drive due to other health problems (cannot legally get a driving licence). |

I do not have any friends at all actually, when I had my class changed in primary school when I was 9 I lost the friends I had from when I was 3, 4 years old and I have had no one since as friends. I have tried, tried to do self employment but I had a breakdown, it is too stressful without support. ... |

I have tried self employment and ended up having a breakdown, it is too risky for me. Unless there is support from someone or somewhere, but I can't get that. I don't even get help from social services. |

I have come to the conclusion that I cannot get employment due to the market mechanisms of competition in play: the labour market is essentially a cattle market, and having AS, I am worth less than normal people to employers, or even literally worthless. It is impossible to compete against normal pe... |

I am in the UK. I have applied to a disability aware employer and asked for adjustments (having the questions written down and more time to answer). I will let you know how it goes. I applied under the 2 ticks scheme where if I meet the minimum requirements I get offered an interview. It sounds clo... |

No one will employ you if you are open about it. Aspergers is as toxic as toxic labels get as far as employers are concerned. |

I don't actually have any references to use. My university won't give me a reference, and further back, no luck. |
