I doubt if anyone remembers me, but I've been off this site for a long time and decided to visit again. Good to see many familiar faces around. It's been a crazy few years-getting into and graduating from high school, getting into college, developing lupus, going vegan, accepting that I may also hav... |

Insist they do not have Aspergers yet incessantly nag about said person not looking you in the eyes and tell them to stop talking about Sherlock. Actually, I find this somewhat amusing. |

Don't. Do. It.
If you're fine with hugs, free hugs would be a better idea. Really. |

Hate to sound like a broken-record but yeah, an AS person can be cool if they conform to what society considers cool. I would like to add this bit to the conversation. What about special talents? I remember this real spastic guy at my college who was good at guitar. All the ladies loved him. I cons... |

1. What people do you disclose your diagnosis to and why? Friends who I think might fit the diagnosis or maybe the subject just comes up and I do it in an "oh and by the way" way. Teachers...homeroom teacher, counselor I don't tell any of this to jerks or people who I've just met. 2. Has it helped y... |

I am considered to be cool by my classmates, but I don't do cliques, am incapable of socially satisfactory mingling and don't have close friends save for one or two. Most of the time, said close friends are aspies just like me or are obsessed with Sherlock too, or both. I have a variety of skills, s... |

1. You seem to be very intelligent.
2. Like the posters above have said, the term you use is really your own pick but I would say you're moderately autistic. |

It certainly sounds like you have more than a few Asperger's traits, but of course, there are other possibilities aside from AS, and could ALSO be comorbid with AS, such as ADHD. Did you ask why exactly the doctor disagreed with the AS diagnosis? That might help. I don't think any competent clinicia... |

Almost every version of Sherlock Holmes appears to be an aspie even though I've never seen a book/t-v show/movie where it actually says he is one. It's widely accepted he is one. In Sherlock (BBC) Series 2 Episode 2: The Hounds of Baskerville, John briefly mentions Sherlock as Aspie in the followin... |

I'm sure Sherlock (BBC) has been mentioned, but I find him fascinating! He seems to not have face blindness though, and picks up on details that I would definitely miss. I haven't really analyzed whether he picks up on social cues – I need to watch for that! I love when he's oblivious to common-sen... |

I am an asexual androgynous/genderqueer aspie who fortunately is well-liked in my school because it's an all-girls high school and androgynous, outlandish people are generally welcomed as...surrogate guys? I have an acquaintance at school...don't have a lot of real friends...and she's, well, made it... |

Lets see. I always take the first subway carriage on weekdays and have a particular spot where I stay until I reach my station. I then walk three doors down to exit the train, because that's the one closest to the escalator. I order the exact same thing at a cafe, twice a week...the baristas know wh... |
