Thanks for your reply. I think the problem is that my old friends have their own lives now, and we've all drifted apart. Many times we've tried arranging get togethers but failed due to conflicting schedules. I thought maybe at least if I had a Facebook account, I could still post on their walls and...

Hi, I'm undiagnosed but I think I'm either an aspie or on the mild side of the spectrum. I'm currently 38, married with kids. I had a small group of friends in high school who I hung out with almost every week. But when I got my first girlfriend (now my wife) I started to drift away from them and sp...

Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but it’s very interesting and I have a question exactly in this area. Like the thread starter, I’m from Singapore and am looking for another country to live in. I’m a working adult, so my needs are different. I’m actually reasonably content to live in Singapor...

Hi guys, I live in Singapore, and being an Aspie in Singapore is quite easy. Our society is quite reserved as a whole, and everyone minds their own business. As a society we are quite focused on education, work, and family. However, there is also a lot of stress on the children, the cost of living i...

I’m not diagnosed, but I either have Aspergers or am severely introverted. My wife can testify to it that a major plus of an Aspergers dad is that I’m always around to help out with the kids. I have no social life, so I go straight home after work and watch the kids if she wants to get out and meet ...

I’ve never fit in with my age group growing up. I’m both mature and immature at the same time. For example, as a teen I loved old music (classical and 60s pop) , never went clubbing or to parties, and dressed and behaved like an adult. I'm 37 now, and I still like watching cartoons, love playing vid...

I also fidget a lot, touching my face, my nose, my eyes, bouncing legs. If the bouncing disturbs someone sitting next to me, I wriggle my toes instead of bouncing my legs. I also bite my teeth together rhythmically, e.g. to the beat of a song that’s stuck in my head.

You could just be an introvert. It's not enough to say that you do have autism. I have apathy towards friendships because I don't really think about them and they can be very difficult to keep up. I'm probably not explaining that properly. I never ask people if they want to go out. I never want to ...

I only like music with a strong melody line, mostly pop from the 60s and 70s and some classical pieces. When I listen to pop, I practically ignore the lyrics and just focus on the melody. I usually have no idea what songs are about, which boggles my wife.

Is this a sign of autism? I have difficulty maintaining friendships. Actually it’s not difficulty but more like apathy on my part. I like my friends, but don’t feel the need to see them or talk to them. Occasionally one of them would invite me out, and I’d go and have a good time. But I don’t feel t...

Hi all, I'm a new member. My 5 yr son was just diagnosed with ASD. It's a late diagnosis because he is relatively high functioning, and it took a year to get a diagnosis. That's not why I'm posting though. After a year of reading up on ASD, I've come to wonder if I myself am on the spectrum. I was a...
