Did you grow out of it and have the feeling fade away or did you come up with specific ways to cope so you wouldn't self-injure? If somebody intervened (such as holding your hands) w...

Try every single collection...

Currently, I'm collecting pottery shards and other things I find in landfills. But I think my strangest collection was in 3rd grade, when I collected eraser crumbs in my desk at school.

My teacher didn't like that one bit.

The way I see it, if they try another character now, the message of what Asperger's is will be jumbled. The damage is done.

1) Why do you think in our culture we have these phrases that clearly delineate what proper male behavior is, but we do not for female behavior? Because, up to a few decades ago, our culture was predominantly patriarchal. Women were seen as useless baby-factories, while man were responsible for run...

It's rarely cryptic.

The only thing I deal with when I'm on my period is the changes of my hormones and the rise and fall of my moods and anxiety plus the change in daily routine... but other than that, no signs of PMS... Are any other AS women like this with PMS? That's pretty much what PMS is. I know PMS always sneak...

I've been told that a lot of people can't actually perceive the difference between making eye contact with someone or someone looking at their nose (not that phrasing exactly, but you get the idea). Your daughter might be making eye contact in a way that is comfortable for her. Ask her to look you i...

No one is nice but most people are "nice". Women love masculine guys , nice or not. A non-masculine jerk guy would find troubles like the non-masculine nice guy. Most jerks are masculine while most nice guys are not masculine, but it's all in masculinity. What planet are you from?! Masculinity is p...

The men's scale would be fun. Might be rather disappointing to most guys, actually. I remember a study where they had men grade women on a scale and then women grade men on a scale of physical attractiveness. The men's scale grading the women was pretty evenly distributed. But when the women graded...

Hmm, I've never heard that one. My boyfriend is constantly informing me of all of the social situations in which eye contact is especially important. Handshakes, introductions, and basically anything with strangers. As you can imagine, that's extremely uncomfortable. What I tend to do is look up in ...
