I also have a poor attitude to food. I don't eat enough every day and get confused about whether I'm hungry or not. I have been through times where I have eaten almost nothing for days through a combination of physical and mental discomfort about eating. I know I have to and I do try to, but just th... |

I'm going to say -8, because I know things could be worse, but I do feel pretty terrible. Worried that whatever I do is wrong somehow. |

I moved to a city with a few million inhabitants by now, probably to compensate. Yeah, I now live in the 5th largest city in North America. The first apartment I lived in here was on the 33rd floor of one of a pair of 44 storey buildings. Previous to that I had always lived on the ground or 1st flo... |

It's difficult to say when I knew I was different. I think a large part of that comes down to not having a strong sense of normality with which to contrast myself. I lived a fairly sheltered existence, which only gradually expanded beyond my village. I couldn't help but feel different once I went to... |

@TenPencePiece: I declared I was Jupiterian. It did seem to help for a while. I've also been known to say that I felt I was born 1000 years too early. That might have been after reading Arthur C. Clarke's 3001: The Final Odyssey. As for another galaxy... would that be a galaxy far, far away? I was a... |

1. I have two cats, Dali and Tenzing, two bearded dragons, Carlin and Sagan, and a fiery-shouldered conure called Dante. 2. I'm trying to finish off the last few pages of Douglas Adams' The Long Dark Tea-Time Of The Soul and have been plugging away at Daniel Dennett's Consciousness Explained. 3. Sun... |

Thank you, Monsieur or Madame AnonymousAnonymous. I haven't read the book, but the film of Fight Club is up there near the top of my list of great movies. I don't buy many DVDs or Blu-Rays but recently got Fight Club on BD, even though we already had a copy on DVD. I'll never forget the first time I... |

I also grew up in a backwater kind of place. A little village of about 3,000 people, where it seemed like everyone knew everyone and everyone seems kind of weird. I also was not diagnosed until I sought out explanations for myself, long after I had left school. I had a friend in high school who show... |

As the name says, I am A Delicate Balance. I'm 27, living in Toronto, Canada with my wife, 2 cats, 2 bearded dragons and a fiery-shouldered conure. I was diagnosed aspergic October 2010, although I had wondered for some time before then if a diagnosis might be appropriate. I have also been diagnosed... |
