As others have pointed out, you've already taken the first step. You've identified weak spots. Just turn that into a more formal list of things you need to understand more. Step 2, depending on where you live I'm sure there are websites, even YouTube videos that can walk you through the basics as yo... |

Hi everyone, I've been a member since 2011 because I kept being told by people that I might be on the spectrum. In the end I finally got tested in 2019 but the psychiatrist said it was 50/50 so didn't diagnose autism, but did diagnose GAD. My girlfriend and I had our first kid who just turned 3 and ... |

59 but I think a lot of those questions capture people who are more introverted daydreamers. Some of the more severe questions, like having people that you don't know call you by a different name or finding notes/drawings etc that you don't remember making, I almost always scored 0 on those and to m... |

In the early 2000's I finally began to be overburdened by racing thoughts after I dropped out of school. When I was distracted by class or social interactions it wasn't so bad. But with nothing to do back then but read books and work on my garden I began to become distressed. For those who don't und... |

If you want to beat them you'll wanna kill Ornstien first, and use light armor so you can quickly run and dodge their attacks as well as use the pillars even when they are broken to put space between them. You gotta get a good rhythm of how to make them separate and attack when you can. Super Smoug... |

Probably my favourite game of all time would be Pokemon Red. Nothing brings back that era of my early/mid teens like the Pokemon franchise and just how relatively easy and wonderful life was back then. Sometimes it's weird to think of how ubiquitous the internet is now and how teens are growing so d... |

I wouldn't say "overlooked" per say. But when I bought my first high end PC ever in September 2017 I quickly tried jumping into Dark Souls because of all the amazing hype around it for many years. After 17 hours I got to Darkroot Garden but I'd basically gotten there by running/rolling pas... |

Dan, Sir, you are welcome as a full-fledged member of the Site. thanks Kraftie and everyone else. One thing I would say about being NT or not being NT, the trick part is that huge grey area of, well, not even knowing. I still can't see myself as being neurotypical and a diagnosis of a lifelon... |

Possibly cyberdad. Or as others have said maybe ppd-nos. Given that I may have been diagnosed autistic 6 years ago (if I'd been tested then) and that I still feel there is enough impairment thanks to generalised anxiety I'm not sure I'm ready to enter the NT world just yet  Everyone here has be... |

Thanks for the input Mayel :) it feels nice knowing I'm not alone. I like how they use terms like "gifted" or within the "superior" range but all fast processing speed ever seemed to do for me was give me racing, tangential thoughts that I often couldn't express verbally. Either ... |

I was referred to this specialist for autism assessment from my regular psychologist (they are colleagues). So now that the assessment process is complete I can attend regular sessions again with my original therapist. The specialist will forward my report to her with some suggested treatments but t... |

Well I've started by searching circumstances similar to mine here on WP. Makes sense to start here before searching the whole web for people with a similar story (ie I'm being lazy hehe). I went to the home page and typed in things like "High IQ and anxiety". I've already found some thread... |

Hmm, I'm not sure if I can say it's helped yet because I guess I'll need to take some time to adjust but I'm pretty certain it's for the best. One thing I can do is start looking at the experiences of other people similar to me ("your clan" as she put it ). If I find I can relate to t... |

Hurley the only advice I can give is get an assessment as quickly as possible. If possible (ie if your Mum is still with us) get her involved as well as she can explain your early life milestones and behaviours better than anyone. I waited 8 or 9 years from my first suspicions and it twisted me up i... |

You might have been PPD-NOS under the DSM-IV. Yes kraftie, I did feel for her when she said at one point "diagnosing autism is hard!" lol. She also made it clear that she spent many hours trying to solve the puzzle and that she actually made a case for my having autism and a case against ... |

Thanks everybody for replies, well wishes etc. Mountain Goat, I can see how that would be concerning, you and a loved one who both have face blindness potentially losing each other in a crowd! Question... Just out of curiosity. Did you have people come up to you and tell you that they thought you ha... |
