Welcome Lonely1 (which you're not in here! :) ), you certainly have come to the right place, among your species here. :D Depression and anxiety are common with AS, typically side effects of having to deal with an "alien" world. As for your survival instinct, that's a good thing, I'm a bit the same, ...

Summer tends to be warm and dry. Can get up to 110F, a few days over 105 is common, but there's usually cooler breaks in between.

There were some very strong winds across Tasmania, parts of Victoria and parts of NSW. A bit of damage here and there, but no significant casualties. And no snow, except for the elevated areas.

That's true. Reminds me, I must resurrect my old "gay Aspie" website, which was the first of its kind back in 1995 (despite asking, no one has been able to recall an out gay Aspie going back further).

Well, I'm sure we can do more than welcome. As I said, the volume of posts on WP is way too high for me to cope with in a forum format. I'd need a mailing list to keep up. :)

Thanks for the welcome Solvejg, seems like a friendly bunch in this thread. WP is a little big to work with and I find forums clumsy, I'm just sticking to the Aussie board for now. :)

Welcome sofie. I don't know any aspies in NT, but they must exist. Yes, a lot of groups do focus on kids and us adults get forgotten, though some are starting to see us as hope for their kids. I just left a Facebook group, because it was both very child focused and very busy, so all it was doing was...

Know that feeling well too. I still have trouble knowing where to go for help, when the information is not immediately available. Good thing we've got each other, we manage to fill some of the gaps. :-*

Short term memory, mine's been shot since the middle of high school. It's a stress/workload thing. During school, it used to be quite good until a few weeks into the school year. Since school, it's been basically iffy all the time. :/ I know I'm not functioning as well as I could be either. :/

I'm a volunteer firefighter with the CFA here. Actually getting back into it, as I used to be a volunteer in the late 80s/early 90s, until I moved to Melbourne. So it's not a career for me, it's a community service. I have anxiety issues, but that tends to be mostly dealing with people. I also tend ...
