I was diagnosed with Aspergers eight years, 5 months and three days ago, to be exact, but because I'm so emotional my therapist does not believe the diagnosis. I just lost my love and best friend of 32 years on April 3rd of this year and I basically wish I were dead too, so I'm in therapy. I got out...

Unemployed 17 years. I've had to raise my severely autistic twins with only my husband for help. There was nobody else who could take care of them. I'd love to have another job but I don't see that happening now.

It turns out to be some sort of program involving "patient liability" for persons living in facilities classified as nursing homes or hospices. My boys are currently attending a program for severely autistic children in an Intermediate Care Facility for three years only. The facility is aw...

No, because it's after the money has been paid. The parent company is sending us bills but the actual firm says we owe nothing according to their records. At least one of these bills was sent out before it was logged on the company's computer system too. It's very strange.

Have any of you gotten bills for your children and then found out from the place that sent them that you don't owe any money? That's happened to us for about six months now.

If you have to work up some anger to be able to do a thing, like call an agency, you shouldn't make the call at all, even if it is the only way you can keep from being to frightened to make the call in the first place. People don't understand; they just hate you. You might as well give up on being a...

I was diagnosed at age 40. I never showed many of the classic behaviors but I did live in my own little world and missed all sorts of social cues all my life.

They are but it's slow-going. He has Stage Four which has gone into his liver, but the tumors have shrunk enough that his liver works properly now. It's a slow-growing cancer so it's a slow healing process as well. The doctor is hopeful that he will be cured.

Have I ever! Husband and wife, one saw me in school, the other after I graduated. One gave me an inaccurate diagnosis of ADD and refused to help me with my social issues because I was smart enough to figure it out by myself. Of course that was in the days before it was known women could have Asperge...

Stanley Kubrick is one of my favorite directors ever. He could even do fast-paced; if you want proof, watch The Killing. It's a film noir that will leave you breathless. I love Spartacus, Dr. Strangelove and 2001. Paths of Glory is an important movie even though it's very difficult to watch. The mes...

My boys were nearly a year old, and we were getting them ready for a shopping trip. My husband turned on the TV, which we always kept on PBS. That morning, I told him I was bored and I wanted him to change the channel. That's when we saw first tower burning. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The...

All I can advise is to avoid caffeine. Like you, I drink Coca-Cola so I won't tell you to stop. As long as you don't drink them constantly you should be fine. Alternate with juice or water because Coke isn't the best thing to keep you hydrated. As far as other foods go, it depends on your individual...
