Immersion is the best way to learn a new language and culture. For me, if I want to integrate further in society, I need to learn this daily changing non-verbal language and the culture of the so diverse people and groups in it. Some of the language ( street, slang, ebonics etc ) have no rules and i... |

Philologos wrote ~ So ignorant people who point at Christians and howl that they are sworn to obey a bad and inaccurate book need to cease to be ignorant. They can still howl at people who actually are sworn to obey every word of Leviticus, and if they want to howl at the people who say they take th... |

*Quote Carole Tucson * So the fact that I don't find it amusing when human beings inflict vile and disgusting horror on one another makes me a "politically correct hypocrite". Good lord. I'll pass on this thread now, thanks. Psst, sorry Carole, but I did say I wasn't pointing at you. I never called... |

Even though I admit to having a warped sense of humour, I am not in the category of people who "rubberneck " on the freeway because of passing by a traffic fatality. I really find it annoying when "normal" people who abhor violence and bloodshed slow traffic in order to look for blood and dead bodie... |

Very nice to hear and see philosophical and scientific replies, but personally I read the bible (and many other publications) simply as a guide to help me in living a full and satisfying life. Whether certain facts are historically correct is of no consequence to me personally. There are just too ma... |

MK, so *I am also a member of the LGBT community, and am right there with you. I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with the movement stated in the video, though. It's not that I don't think they have a point. I just don't think refusing to celebrate a holiday will accomplish much.* Why post this gar... |

I could edit my previous post, but I want to make sure I'm clear in declaring that I love people of all religions, I believe in my spirituallty, and I abhor the destruction of any ones personal beliefs. If it includes pushing ones personal belief in a religion on others, then it is an atrocitie to m... |

WoW, I'm assuming that we aren't referencing the king james version here or am I wrong. King James was cited as burning people at the stake for publishing anything not authorized by the kingdom of England. I mean to say the bible as a fact along with anything else that wasn't "authorised" |

OMG I'm so sad after watching this. In the century the Dec of Ind was thought of, women were still regarded of as property. Yep and I mean legally in localities too ladies! Sometimes it's best to look at where you are and where you want to beL look too close at the past and you see the lies you have... |
