Maybe this is just my experience but it seems to me that social norms are collapsing and many NT's are starting to have only slightly more of an idea about what the rules are than we do. Many ideas and behaviours that would have been unthinkable 30 years ago are now mainstream. I actually think that... |

I agree that many of the problems that Autistic people face are caused by society misunderstanding and oppressing them. I agree with ASANs stance on gene editing, because it infringes on the rights of the individual who is having their genes edited. It is being done without the person's consent and ... |

The fact of getting older has never really bothered me much. But I always hated the expectation of having a celebration, especially if it was me who was expected to arrange it, and I don't like the kind of forced sociability which comes with being the centre of attention because "it's my speci... |

There is no evidence here that this is racially motivated, Mike Pence has not mentioned race or involvement with black lives matter. He claims that this is about their pandering to the Chinese Communist party. The idea that this is not the real reason and it is actually about race and involvement wi... |

It seems to me that the US military are hijacking climate change and using it to scare everyone into giving it more money and weapons. The military itself is one of the worst polluters that there is. Expanding the military and giving it more money is not going to help reduce pollution. In fact it wi... |

Think I sort of know what you mean, sometimes I get in a state of mind when everything just fades into one and things seem less real and people become more like phantoms with no individuality. Although I feel quite alone, I don't really get depressed about it, this is just what happens when you can'... |

I would have thought that a trained police officer should be able to restrain a 15 year old with a butter knife without a gun or taser or anything. I reckon I could do it, why can't they? This all smells a bit wrong. |

I would also be up for meeting in Birmingham and would rather it be organized on WP than AV. The people on AV are mostly alot older than me and I don't have much in common with them and I quickly lost interest in that site shortly after I joined. There seems to be a fair ammount of interest in this,... |

That painting is superb, I like the contrast between the outside and the inside. The outside looks bright and colourful and inviting, whereas the inside looks dark, dreary and depressing. It looks so beautiful outside but the children are sitting inside watching television in the dark looking anxiou... |

The article just sounds like a piece of propaganda created to justify the new diagnostic procedures. Hard to say how authentic or genuine it is. He is either lying or is being used to promote an agenda. I personally think it is a fake because the understanding of AS seems to be quite poor, and it co... |

From my favorite metallica album, this is what I grew up on. The song does seem to be ridiculing people who need to believe in a cure even if no such thing exists. The lies tempt her and she follows Again she lets him in She must believe to fill the hollow She's been fooled again It's a bit vague th... |

I would say that motor-co-ordination skill problems are real, but in a subjective way. The problems become real when society expects that everyone should have good handwriting. My handwriting used to be pretty awful as well, it wasn't readable by anyone else except me until I was about 12. Handwriti... |
