On one hand, its cool to understand why you've always felt different than everybody else, to finally have a name for it and be able to read about it and realize there are lots of others just like you. On the other hand, it can be a kind of depressing to realize its because of a neurological handica... |

I can't dance at all . I like to (when no one's watching, naturally) but I don't have much rhythm. And I obsessively love music. The coordination issue, I can't think of anything in my day to day life it affects tremendously, other then when I walk. I wouldn't say I'm clumsy, but I'm a little unstea... |

Welcome! I'm new here, too. I know what you mean about thinking you should maintain social interaction because the world is built on relationships - I'm not lonely either, and I can go for great lengths of time without talking to anyone and be perfectly happy, but occasionally it *is* nice to connec... |

Welcome! I'm new here too, and pretty much in the same boat. Congratulations on working towards your master's in biology! That's fantastic. I don't like phone conversations, either. Unless it's with a very good friend and we already have established interests that we both like discussing, I'm at a l... |

Felines, you're my new favorite person :) Thank you for your kind words and the warm welcome! (And you as well, Kinftw!) That's awesome that you write horror too. I don't know what it is about that genre I've always found so fascinating. It's more than just enjoying giving myself a good scare when i... |

The 90's had the best shows and cartoons of all time!! Didn't they just? Our cartoons were kind of messed up, but soo amazing. It seriously made my entire summer when they started airing, what was it, last week? I hope this isn't a temporary thing, Nick should devote *every night* to 90's cartoons ... |

I'm sorry. I have nothing productive to add other than I've been exactly where you are, I know how soul-numbing that can feel. I don't know your whole situation, but I hope you're able to find a way to be okay with your situation if you're unable to change it. I know what's worked for me in the past... |

I want that kind of love, romance and companionship in my life. At the same I don't because 1. I love my alone time. I need it. 2. I like who I am and I don't want to change for anyone. 3. I hate drama, and it seems to be a big part of relationships. THIS. I completely agree, Nikki15. I never dated... |

I'm jumping in on the grandparent love. I had the most amazing grandparents - they raised me, I am the person I am today because of them. So I miss them both all the time. My grandfather in particular - he just passed away this February. I miss him every day. I still have a voicemail he left me save... |

Thanks, BillyIdolFan! Yeah, dating is this great mystery to me I don't think I'll ever understand. I actually have my first boyfriend as of a few weeks ago, and it's definitely...different. I'm still adjusting, and I know he's noticed I have trouble interacting in certain situations, especially arou... |

Child abuse, definitely. Hearing parents scream at their children at the grocery store, I have to leave otherwise I will earn myself a smack in the face for saying something. I get so upset for those poor babies. Cancer is the only thing, though, that will instantly make me cry. Any time I hear of s... |

I don't get why people think it's acceptable or funny to poke people, either. I don't know anyone who enjoys it. I don't necessarily mind being touched, but I'm always surprised by it. Like it gives me a jolt when someone touches me - I'm not expecting it, it surprises me, but like a lot of people, ... |

They come back later and out of nowhere, I think, because you may have spent quite a while repressing it. Kind of like when a loved ones dies, and you may have thought you grieved properly over it, but years later, something will trigger a memory of that loved one and all that grief and pain comes r... |

No, they do not mesh well together *at all.* I have it too. I've had anxiety issues since I was about 12. It's not nearly as bad as it was in my teenage years, even up to a few years ago, but when it crops up it's absolutely terrible. Luckily, I haven't had an anxiety attack in over a year. I defini... |

If I were too busy and unable to space out I would have a meltdown Oh my gosh, yes. I HAVE to have time during the day to do nothing but kind of daydream off by myself. I get cranky and anxious when I'm too busy to have some alone time, where I don't do much of anything. But yeah, it's not just you... |

My mother will always be the mental age of 15. I don't know a whole lot about my father, I've only met him three times. My impression is that he's very smart, but very terrible at parenting. My stepfather can be a lot of fun, but he can also be very mean. I spend a lot of time being fantastically fr... |
