I'm 26 and I live on my own. I moved out when I was 22. I will never again go back to living with others. I found it so stressful having a house full of people! I absolutely love having space where I can be completely alone. Since moving out my anxiety levels have gone way down (they're still probab...

Thanks. So far I like the therapist, he seems really nice and understanding. I hope he accepts my case, but we'll just have to see.

So, yesterday was pretty much an interview to find out enough background information about me and what I'm looking for to decide if assessment is the right way to go. The therapist (who is still a university student; this office is a training facility) will then meet with his supervisor and together...

So, after about a year of debating whether or not I wanted to get assessed I put myself on a waiting list. I figured I'd decide if/when I ever got a call back. Last week I was called and asked if I was still wanting an assessment - I said yes. I feel like it will give me some closure, and possibly a...

I always carry a purse. If I'm leaving the house for more than 5 minutes my purse is with me. I find it helps keep my hands busy; when I don't have a purse, shopping bag, or something else to carry I can't figure out what to do with my hands. I also hate (very. very strongly...) having anything in m...

I didn't realize it was a requirement at all. I was never taught cursive at any point throughout my schooling. Neither were any of my brothers. I can sign my name but am unable to write anything else in cursive. As for reading it, some people's handwriting I can make out but most I find completely i...

I often either cross my arms, rest my hands on my hips or legs, or have them in my pockets. For me it's mainly that I don't like to have my hands just hanging, they have to be touching or holding something.

I go back and forth on this.

Some days I get really lonely. I wish I was able to just call someone up and ask to talk or hang out, but I have no idea how to do that.
Other days I want to hole up and hide, and just not bother dealing with people at all.

Right now I'm trying to cut down on procrastination. It's gotten really bad, to the point where household chores aren't getting done at all. I'm making myself do at least one thing per night, and then I can have a treat (usually cookies and milk or time playing a favourite computer game). I'm also t...

Hi, I've been looking around for a new forum to join, and just stumbled across this one. It looks like somewhere I'll hopefully fit in okay (crosses fingers) so I figured I'd give it a shot. I don't have a diagnosis but I think it's very likely that I have Asperger's. Whether I do or not, I have a h...
