Yes. I stim almost ceaselessly. Thankfully, I don't think most of my stims are perceived as being very noticeable or obnoxious. I probably just look very fidgety.
The only stim I consciously control is talking to myself, which I only do in private. However, some people may not consider that a stim. |

You're not alone. There have been times that I wanted kids of my own [in the future] but the truth is that even the best behaved children have terrible moments and I just cannot deal with that at all. It's hard enough to deal with competent adults' rare drama. |

Try this :) http://www.back2college.com/raisegpa.htm Thanks this looks really useful. Would total number of attempted credit hours completed be the same thing as the number of units I have completed? I am assuming so, but that is a new term for me. I think so, but I have never heard them called "un... |

I'm not aware if they test for it in adults, because the only test that I know of for it is for children and most adults with AS have gained the particular knowledge on the Sally and Anne Test. You can take it here. |

Same. Having been sexually assaulted as a teen doesn't help either. |

A good response would have been "No, it's my shirt". This is a great response. I'll have to try and remember it. OP, I would have been flustered too. Don't try to take it too personally; I'm sure you know that kids tend to speak unfiltered. If anything I'd be more saddened just how deeply sexist th... |

Don't you know that controlled bipolar is worse in every way than being autistic? I mean, they even can have panic attacks, because they have real reasons to have them, but people on the autistic spectrum, they have no reason at all to meltdown. They should be actively shunned for ever thinking of ... |

Have you ever encountered NT friends who seemed to brag about their issues like depression, anxiety, social isolation, etc, and always had to be worse off than you? I know NTs can have issues as well. Everyone goes through hard spots, but why would anyone be proud of such things? It's not a contest. |

I drive. In small cities (few 100,000 people) I enjoy it. But in large cities (1,000,000+) I find driving really stressful. |

Eat less, exercise more. It really is just that simple. unadulterated bs. NOTHING is "just that simple." believe what you will. If you think it isn't, then ask your doctor. whatever. I think what Fnord is trying to say is that the basic science is simple. It's just a fact that if you consume less c... |

I don't think this is necessarily relevant to ASDs in particular. I can't remember which class it was, but I saw this in middle school or high school. Nobody saw the gorilla and as far as I'm aware all my classmates were NTs.
Edit: I remember now. It was my high school psychology class. |

34. But I find some things on Baron Cohen's AQ test confusing. It's mostly his questions about using imagination, because it seems this test was made with the idea that people on the spectrum aren't interested in imagining or reading/watching fiction. Obviously just by spending time on here, that's ... |

The first part definitely sounds like sleep paralysis, but the rest is unusual.
I have sleep paralysis a couple times a year. It can be absolutely frightening. |

Ugh, yes. And when I'm aware of it it drives me nuts and I try to stop. Unfortunately then I probably end up seeming stranger still because then I don't know what to do with my arms at all. |
