Thanks for advice everyone, yeah I have already spoken to my GP and was told to await a referral to see a psychiatrist, after a week the letter came but rather than detailing an appointment as I was expecting it said that there was no funding in the area and I should go to a private clinic in Sheffi... |

Oh whoops, thanks, yes this is exactly the advice I needed, I find it really hard to sort this kind of thing out for myself for some reason. Finances and benefits etc hurt my mind I just can't focus on it very well |

Thanks, I will look on his website and email for advice. It is because of where I live they said no NHS funding in this area and it's annoying because my doctor and support worker and the college learners support department all know as well as many others and it's really obvious yet no one will give... |

Hi, following from my "Advice for an official diagnosis" I also need advice on claiming disability, I have applied before and was turned down, I've applied again and given my doctor and my support worker as references but I don't have an official diagnosis as the NHS told me they won't fund it. So a... |

Thanks, yes the letter says that "there is no local NHS trust that can provide an assessment" and says I should go to a private clinic instead, Maybe I should look at the nearest area I can get an NHS assessment. So much effort though doing this :/ |

Of Asperger's?
I have been to my doctor and have been told that the NHS is not funded to diagnose me with Asperger's and I will have to go to a private clinic in Sheffield! Well I can't afford that so does anyone know if there is anything I can do?
Many thanks if anyone has advice. |

I think it's simply because cats can be more solitary and won't judge you, a cat doesn't care if you're the most hideous person in the world, overweight and a serial killer rapist, it doesn't make any difference to the cat, it won't judge you. People on the other hand are very conformist and judge o... |

In my opinion just leave a book about aspergers somewhere they will find it, they will probably pick it up and read it to find out what it's about, then relate to it and keep researching aspergers. |
