While it might be extra publicity to link it, I'd like to keep my Wrong Planet account separate from the rest of my online presence. No anti-discrimination laws here, so I'd rather not be linked so explicitly to my real identity, or things might get very bad for me very fast. And my music and all th...

if that guy not having been able to get his hands on an assault rifle could've saved even one of those kids, that would've made a world of a difference. I'd hate to be 'that guy', but, no, if the guy was not able to get his hands on an assault rifle, the death toll would have been identical, becaus...

I came across this thread via Google. I know no one of autism or aspergers. I only know what I see on Parenthood. I am saddened and sickened by what happened. But I wanted to comment on the thread title. Why is it Not Good? I don't believe and I'm sure neither does the psychiatric community that As...

Oh by the way, you can hurt people more as they grow closer to you. A fast initial rejection will do far less damage than playing along for a year before deciding to tell them you don't like them. It saves you the headache of the intervening year, too.

Right, his being an Apsie is no more relevant here than his being a human. Do you understand how silly this sounds? You accuse me with straw-manning, but the things you then say about the situation are just as extreme and laughable as the straw men I've supposedly erected. "Yeah, he had a se...

Looking forward to another 8 pages of people wringing their hands and saying all sorts of dumb-sounding stuff in order to try to disassociate the label of Asperger's/autism from this event. Sure thing, guys...no correlation there whatsoever. The fact that the guy was an Aspie had NOTHING to do with...

Just quite discouraged. I wrote 13 songs in the past year since starting. In that time another band in our music writing group wrote only 2. I performed 9 of those 13, never playing anything exactly the same way twice. They always have at least a major remixing work done on them before replaying in ...

Call me a hipster, but to me having any routine at all to follow is too mainstream. Everyone has different things they like. In respect to people, including children, I would like to honour their interests by allowing them to do whatever they want to do... within legal limits of course. In the earli...

The official term for that feeling you refer to 'frisson'. I think it started from french. If I don't get it from a song, it doesn't go into my playlist. And it's an absolute criterion for my songwriting - if it doesn't cause a frisson, I modify the song until it does. Unless I get an emotional reac...

I would have said dubstep if I considered it as music, but as it is, none.

From my experience, that's impossible. Choose one of the two - getting rid of them, and not hurting their feelings.

Not again... He was human. Let's just leave it at that. Aspie, NT or otherwise, a human being is fully capable of violence. He might have been a little more prone to violence, but it's still wrong to assume that AS was the cause. Anyone with the "right" motivation can do something like that. Humans ...

Honestly, this is not within my area of interest, but the strawmanning you used here is so infuriatingly obvious it demands a proper address. This scenario is quite possibly already happening in the human population. Technology. This may be aspies undermining (unconsciously or unintentionally) our d...
