But once something does trigger this, is it common for him to have heightened symptoms for weeks?

My concern is that he appears like a classic aspergers child for a few weeks, then seems to appear very typical (with minor things only noticeable to me-mom) for a couple weeks.

Yes, he has a lot of sensory issues! My husband can accept that, part, but not the idea of a disorder or condition like aspergers, adhd, etc.

No, I can't get him diagnosed. I wouldn't do that behind my husband's back. I've brought up going through the process, but he is not ready for that.

Thank you all. Except for a counselor, we haven't gone to anyone else about him. We shared our behavioral concerns with the counselor, but never mentioned that I think there is a problem or possible aspergers. I'm just hoping that if the counselor feels this is a concern, he will bring it up. Person...
