Christianity/catholicism today is nothing more than a perverse system devised to intellectually enslave mankind and monopolize power and profit. Very well put! I kept nodding my head in agreement throughout the entire post. We'll probably never know for sure if Jesus Christ actually existed or not ...

Developing & creating new habits. . . For me it is SO hard to form new habits or routines! I've always tried to find ways to better myself in all areas of my life and I keep getting so frustrated. I love to research and find new information but it's so hard to put that information into practice!...

I'm glad someone out there cares about this issue too! I'm afraid I fall into the less fortunate group, didn't have any support when I was younger and I'm now struggling just to get by. I've never had any kind of access to medical help - no insurance, no doctors, dentists or therapists. Had no idea ...

Having one of those days, one of those sucky days! :( Work has always been super agonizing for me but some days are the worst!! One of the hardest things I've dealt with at work is communicating with people whose first language is not english. It's one of the most awkward things I ever have to encou...

I definitely agree that it really is a silly speculation since there are so many questions still unanswered and we don't know for sure that it's completely caused by genetics. With the statistical evidence showing that we are less likely to have children and have less children when we do, and also t...

I hate how some people think we're evil, or that we're demon-possessed, or actually demons. This strikes a cord for me! I have this crazy step-grandmother & when I was growing up she would tell everyone that I was possessed. . . I think she thought this because she witnessed me throw a small ta...

Hhhmmmm. . . Maybe that poll question needed a finer point on it. . . It was kind of a vague question but in my mind it had a completely different purpose. It wasn't meant to be 'does it have literally anything to do with evolution?' it was supposed to be more a question of 'could it possibly be a v...

I didn't actually claim to understand everything about evolution or genetics. . . I just find it an interesting concept that autism could be a favorable set of traits, that it's more than a "defect" & could actually serve some purpose. Also, the poll wasn't meant to be strictly "scientific" or a...

“Autism isn't something a person has, or a shell that a person is trapped inside. There's no normal child hidden behind the autism. Autism is a way of being. It is pervasive; it colors every experience, every sensation, perception, thought, emotion and encounter - every aspect of existence. It is no...

I haven't actually told anyone about the probability that I'm on the spectrum. I'm afraid that alot of people see autism as a "mental illness" . . . These are people who don't know the difference between a psychological and neurological disorder. That really bugs me (not that mental illness is somet...

I am constantly battling to try and keep the house clean. For me it seems to be a combination of 2 problems - impairments in short-term memory/executive functioning (I get distracted and forget what I was doing - including forgetting to look at to do lists) and a tendency to over-complicate things....

Those behavior patterns sound identical to mine & I've also wondered if anyone else goes about their interests that way. For me it's mostly history and music that I obsess about and I also go through intervals where I download a ton of videos and watch them over and over. It consumes most of my ...

Mine are intense but nothing like the kid in the video. Lol. When I was really young my worst meltdowns were triggered by having to take medicine (which, in one case I turned out to be allergic to it!) I used to bang my head on things and cry until I exhausted myself. Now I have more control but eve...

I get the same weird vibes when watching movies with people. I'm always conscious of my reactions & wether I'm laughing at the appropriate moments. When I'm with close friends I don't think about it as much but around people I don't know well it can be really uncomfortable.

Household chores are utterly, completely exhausting, and sometimes impossible. I'm trying to get my partner to help me do things like plan meals and make a chore list, but it's really hard to get an ADHD person like him to settle down enough to make a list This hits the nail right on the head for m...

Actually my 20s is when I started to become aware that I wasn't quite "getting it" like my peers. That's exactly what I'm going through now. I'm in my 20's and it's becoming painfully obvious that other people my age are clued in to something that I'm just not getting. Never noticed it much before ...
