What you're seeing isn't the way things really are. Those people are probably having as tough a time as you. I know that isn't apparent from their online profiles. But I guarantee you that is the case. I think you already sort of knew that last bit, and you've already admitted that looking at their ... |

Right now librarian jobs are the purview of people with Masters in Library Science. This actually has a lot to do with databases and other things. Although a circulation clerk job is more low key than that. If you have had a previous job doing any filing or sorting, I would emphasize that in your re... |

That's unfortunate that you feel trapped and unable to relax. I don't know your exact situation. But this is something that I have to navigate as well especially with certain family members. It might be helpful to explain that you have two different modes. And to explain that when you act like a kid... |

Are you conscious of when you switch from acting maturely to acting like a preadolescent? Why is it suddenly more stressful because you are at uni? How do those who live with you treat you? These could be siblings, parents, or roommates. I do the same thing, the switch. It seems like a good sign sin... |

Charityfunday's advice is very constructive. And their description of having to suppress noises until they can let them out privately mirrors what I do. |

I want to ask a general question. Do you guys feel like equals of the people who are therapists, psychologists, voc rehab specialists, and psychiatrists? And not just them, but of anyone who works in a way to support people on the spectrum. The reason I ask is because I’m trying to discover the atti... |

I will say this. The coping mechanisms are behaviors that I'm becoming comfortable with. It is sort of like I am beginning to understand the neurotypical world, the world most people grow up with. And by that I mean actually understanding and being comfortable with. In the past, I have pushed myself... |

I have a general question. When I was younger I was more severe than I was now. There was a lot more awkward behavior. Now I’m starting to pick up on body language and learning how to engage in small talk. (For background information, the author is in his 20s.) It’s great. But at the same time, it i... |

I would agree with Slapdash. It's not something you should condemn as morally wrong. And our normal peers are not bad for, I'm not really comfortable with the word lying. They just realize the advantages of it more quickly than most of us do. For example, it is good for you if everyone around you te... |

Gozer, since you are from Denmark have you ever heard of Specialisterne? It's a software testing firm that employs people on the spectrum. I'm trying to learn anything I can about it. |
