I just did not know whether to post this in the parents area or here. I chose here. I'm not an aspie myself, so at least I don't think I am, but maybe I am, I don't really know, but my son is definitely and has been diagnosed as such. Of course, I already stated it elsewhere. Just letting you know i...

Every answer is evasive and incomplete. I can imagine that an aspie might be doing it for just the sheer pleasure. I know from my son. He is also adhd, so I don't know if it is the as or adhd or both at work here. I know that my son has moods. If he is one of those great moods he will laugh and gig...

Do aspie children commonly find themselves frustrated? And how do you deal with it? That's the question I sometimes find myself asking about my son. He is going to be eighteen. He still has episodes of frustration. I just do not know how many computer mice I have gone through alone in the past two y...

Some of the debate is still going on - including beyond the curebie groups. My son is definitely not a curebie and still believes it is human related. But he also believes all forms of cancer are human related. I don't mean to sound inconsiderate, but I'm not sure if I should take my son's approach...

My son is aspie and believes up and down mercury and something called thimerasole (maybe vaccination stuff?) are the causes. He considers anything else naive. He ranted about this at his local autism group and produced anger with some people there. He went on a long speel. I was there and the angry ...

Are you concerned that your son might get involved with some people like that and do something illegal because of his passion? I think your concern is quite valid as seeing things only in black and white is not unusual You know. I hate to even say this. But I do have worries about illegal acts. Tha...

What is it about him becoming an adult that scares you exactly? From the sounds of things your son sounds quite intelligent. It's not just the obsessions. He refuses to work, has problems getting his life in order, doesn't care if he screams at people if they disagree with him, is very confrontatio...

Is there any way you can channel this obession into his education?

He's been doing that. He's planning on going to college for natural sciences or something.

I'm new to these forums. I have a 17 yr dx aspie, going on 18. That means he'll legally be an adult. I don't know how I'm supposed to think about it. It scares me a bit. My name is Marlene. One reason I recently decided to post on these forums is to get a bit of advice on aspie obsessions. How far c...

Wow! I finally got around to posting on here. My work schedule has been hectic the last two weeks. I have a son 17 years old who is aspie. His dx came when he was 10. His previous dx were adhd / odd. He is now dx with both as and add. I don't know about you all out there, but it seems to me that hav...
