Autism Speaks would never listen. There have been so many autistic self-advocates speaking out against them in so many ways, and they have consistently reacted by trying to silence them or just ignoring them. Also, keep in mind that Gallaudet University gets its money from Deaf students, while Auti... |

A$ has no campus, so occupation is unlikely to be effective in persuading them. These tactics would be better targeted at residential treatment facilities that incarcerate autistic people. If we could get 100+ autistics outside their doors in NYC (and 25-50 outside their other regional doors) at al... |

For those of you who don't get the reference (which considering the average age of people here is probably most people) Deaf President Now was a college protest at a deaf school where students got pissed that the school didn't choose a deaf president to lead them, and got tired of deaf people having... |

Every now and then this happens to me, where I just have to find one of my old friends (generally online friends) and can't relax until I can. Sometimes it is friends from here from a long ago age (if everyone knows beebee I would love to chat! lol) sometimes it can be from other places... but alway... |

I thought we were pretty serious, but she still had a lot of issues she needed to get over and broke it off. |

It would be a big no-no for following reasons. 1. Treated the ex poorly, or acted dangerously or disrespectful around her. 2. Provided number one has happened, this girl you like is still good friends with your ex. 3. The ex had convinced her friend that you aren't worth dating. 4. You haven't been... |

Just wondering how big of a social no-no it would be to ask out a friend of my ex gf. My exgf and I went out about 3 months and she broke up with me about a year ago. Her friend seems nice and somewhat aspish (not sure though my ex was). Would be nice to go out again with someone so would this be a ... |

Part of me wonders if this is part of the reason why I have such a hard time getting a good lasting job (work for min wage with a Master's Degree in an in demand field). If I sound really weird, it might effect my interviews. |

Same here... and the weird thing is, it doesn't sound that way to be me live, just upon hearing myself. |

I honestly don't know how I would ever change this... but sometimes I just hate my voice. I called a radio station earlier (sports thing... 99% of people wouldn't understand but they kept badmouthing my team for a no-call penalty... long story) but when I listened to myself back it didn't sound at a... |

Autism Speaks is not a true Advocacy Group, they're a moneymaking machine, disguised as a nonprofit. They don't care whether anything they say is true, they're just using the image of poor, pathetic autistic children to bilk the masses out of cash. Sounds like a lot of churches I know (and I am a C... |

This is something that I have just recently noticed, now that I am starting to try to show people that Autism Speaks doesn't really speak for us, but there seems to be a religious mindset involved in all of them. Most groups, you show people that they have done wrong, they ask for it to be changed, ... |

To a lot of the posts, part of the problem is I work with kids (no dateable women there), I hate bars (the main way people meet), I don't really trust most websites, and about the main time I go out is to sporting events (where it seems that all the women are already taken), etc. Finding women my ow... |

Now that I am starting to get over my ex, I want to try dating again, and not wait another 27 years. I think part of the reason things went so well with my ex (at least for a few months) is that we were both inexperienced (at dating) autistics. The problem is finding others, I work with kids so none... |
